“enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

we were to spend 2 nights in LA
we wanted to be in a relatively safe, convenient, and budget place
clean, free wifi, and decent amenities - bed, shower - what more do you need when you're there really to see the city most of the time instead of admire a hotel? ....
hopefully we get friendly staff as well

yes! we got everything we needed, and a bit more of than we expected (in a good way :D)
just a few blocks away from the walk of fame
just a few steps to a subway station (I forgot what it's called officially..)

close to a supermart and diners, and thai town too but we didn't manage to go there
the staff were so friendly, but it depends, cos we met different people every morning!
good place i'd say :D

restaurant is 'terrible' because i don't really know what that means? there wasn't a restaurant within the motel i think.. and room service was okay. cos we walked all day, we slept like a log every night, and the place is quite peaceful.

i took a lot of photos really, but i lost them when i lost my sd card in new york. yupp.

Stayed for 2 nights visiting family - motel was convenient to them. Front desk people were friendly and helpful - especially Brian who went out of his way to help me print boarding passes. Internet reception was excellent.
There is a special room with a computer for guests (tho we had our own), a microwave, and washer and dryer. Our room was clean, lots of outlets to plug in our phones, kindle, and laptop. My husband liked the firmness of the bed. Starbucks was right next door. Also a supermarket (and the room had a little fridge). It was raining so didn't use the pool.

The location of the hotel was ok. The only thing that the motel can improve will be the customer service. Nobody likes to be greeted everyday by sullen looking people at the front desk. The internet was kind of bad. Other than that, for the price that we are paying, we cannot complain much.

Room Tip: You have to bring your own kettle if you need hot water. The hotel does not provide any cold or hot...

Look, if I'd paid any more than the $73/night I paid for this place, my review might be different. But it's a cheap little place right off the Red Line; admittedly in the middle of the BermudaTriangle of Hollywood Derelict Weirdos, but the 24-hour front desk keeps the riffraff out.

If you're looking for a place to sleep and keep your stuff, you could do much much worse. No bedbigs, no hookers or crackheads, a clean pool. Admittedly, my room smelled really weird, like super cheap disinfectant, and the bed is in no way comfortable, and it would be nice if there was an additional lock, like a chain or bolt, in the door.

But again, if what you want is a cheap, relatively clean and safe, authentic slice of Hollywood lowlife, you could do much much worse.

Stayed here with a friend for 2 nights in July on a flying visit to LA. Really cant fault the hotel for the price it was - we literally booked it the night before as decided we didn't want to stay in a hostel that we had originally booked. The rooms were clean and comfy. There was a lovely swimming pool which unfortunately we didn't have time to use but it looked very nice. Location - it was really close (about 2 mins walk) to the subway station which was great especially as we went to Universal Studios one day which is a few stops away. It is also close to a Starbucks and other shops. The area generally seemed a bit run down and we didn't walk around at night (got taxis) but I think LA in general doesn't feel totally safe. The hotel itself was fine safety wise. Would recommend if you're looking for a budget hotel in a good location.

We stayed for 3 nights enroute to Pismo beach
Location : Near the Walk of Stars, quite central to shopping/sight seeing. But you would definitely need a car. Quite near Thai town too.
Room quality : Good mattress, decent newly-renovated ensuite bathroom, room was big enough. comfy overall. Free WIFI
Front desk : Staff were very friendly and warm overall.( esp an Asian youngman)
Price : we paid about US$90 per night for a Queen bed room/ non smoking.
Parking : outdoor parking near the hotel. Unfortunately, seems like there was a car break in during our stay and some convertibles' soft tops were slashed. We had a SUV so nothing was broke into. However, I'd need to add that overall, LA doesnt feel like a safe town anyway. Even when we went to the more swanky parts of town, it also felt unsafe.

Room Tip: Good for a group of friends

This motel was very reasonable with its prices, the room we had was clean and tidy, with really good air conditioning. the pool was cold but very clean, we enjoyed our swim to cool down from the heat of the day. the staff were extra helpful and accomadating. The location is really good as well, i recommend you check out the death museam which is only about10 minutes walk from the hotel towards the walk of fame. I can not recomend this place highy enough.
