I stayed two nights at the farmer's daughter and was quite pleased. The location was perfect and central for all my needs. It was a quick walk across the street to the farmer's market and a comfortable walk to take in all the shops and restaurants on 3rd.
We had breakfast in the adjoining restaurant (tart) and the hash browns were fantastic. We had had cocktails there the night prior and both times commented on how friendly the staff was.

The room was very clean and cute (in a kitschy way). While the bed was large, it was very uncomfortable. Also, the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything that is happening in the next room. The bathroom was modern and clean.

I would stay here again if the price was reasonable (less than $200) because of the great location. Any more than that and my expectations would be higher. I was also pleased with all of the employees I encountered. I had needed to change my reservation and they were very helpful. In particular, the valets were fantastic.

My wife and I stayed in the Farmers' Suite this past weekend. This is a nice boutique-y hotel with a great location, close to the Grove and Beverly Center and an easy drive to anywhere on the West Side of LA. The room cost $250/night, and for that I might have expected a little more. Firstly, the Farmer's Suite is located right next to the elevator, so that people waiting to go up or down are waiting/talking/laughing/shouting right outside the front door of your room. Second, I echo the concern about no hand soap. Yes, there is a shower bar of soap, but nothing for the hands. The sink area was a little small. Third, there are no blackout shades in the room. I am not a heavy sleeper, and so I was awakened at 7:00 each morning by the sunshine. A nice touch if you want it, but I had fully intended to get some serious rest on this trip and the brightness of the room made that impossible. Fourth, the comfy couch that is advertised is anything but. It is small, with one large pillow, not at head level, and no armrests or throw pillows. It was very uncomfortable to watch TV on (at 7 AM after being awakened). Fifth, the TV and movie selection was quite subpar, and with great plasma TV's, one might expect a little better programming. Finally the architecture of the room itself--I stubbed my foot three times on a little jutting piece of wall right at bedside.

I might stay there again, but certainly not in this overpriced suite.

The hotel is heavy on kitsch but light on clean. There was no soap in the room (which still had leftover open toiletries from the last guest), and when we asked for some, housekeeping told me they didn't have any. The soap finally appeared about three hours later. But housekeeping didn't appear at all the next day, so the towels, bed, and trash were never removed or replaced. A call to the front desk got us an apology, but no clean towels.
There were other annoyances to the room as well: no drawers to put your clothes, so we were forced to live out of our suitcase (ok for me, but not my wife), and the only way to turn on the bedside lights was to go to a switch at the front door.
The hotel's location is great for anyone not wanting to drive all the time. It's across from the Farmer's Market and the Grove shopping district, so you can easily eat and see a movie without getting into your car.

Hotel Very Nice

Bed was Nice and comfy, which is very important to me, room was decorated in a farmyard style which I liked.

It took a while to check us in even though there was no other guests in the reception, the member of staff seemed a bit moody but otherwise our stay was very nice.

Very handy for CBS and the Grove/farmers market.

Would I stay again? Yes.

I was recommended the Farmer's Daughter by a friend in LA, and was pleasantly surprised by the location and price. The hotel itself is cute and clean, with a nice little pool and a good vibe. The rooms aren't big, but they're definately adequate and comfortable. The location cant be beat, especially for shoppers, as it's located across the street from The Grove/Farmer's Market and walking distance from the Beverley Center and Melrose. They also have a really good restaurant in the hotel with excellent breakfast. I would definately recommend the hotel based on value and location. There are definately much nicer hotels in LA...but if you're there for a short stay, you're better to save the money for the shops and check out this cute little hotel.
