“Good value, clean and very convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I was a bit worried after reading the mixed revues of this Hotel. If you're looking for 5 star then you're way off. But, if you want somewhere that is in a great location, is clean and has the convenience of free parking, Wi Fi and supermarket right across the road, then this is definitely it. We were travelling with a group of 7 people and everyone enjoyed the relaxed nature of the Hotel, although it could get noisy at times.

Free parking. Free wifi. Clean tidy rooms. Pool if you need one. Convenient location. Downside is that its close to noisy streets. Good value. Would stay here again! What else is there to say..........

My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights a the Saharan Hotel in Hollywood, and I have no complaints. The hotel is clean and priced appropieatly. The place was recently updated (5 - 7 years), so the bathrooms and beds are fairly new. The breakfast is fine; carb-filled diet for all the walking you have to do in LA. The only issue is parking. If you go out, and return after 11 PM you will have to park your car on the street, and depending of the week that might be hassle. If your goal is to spend time out on the street and just need a place to rest, this is the place. This place is literrally onw block west and one block south from the Walk of Fame. Totally recommend it!

Over all we had a good stay here...clean newly remodeled rooms that were decent size. Although we had a "blob" on the wall that looked like tootsie roll??? :) Front desk staff wasn't the friendliest when asked why they photocopied our credit cards and drivers license...he informed us that it was for "our protection"??? When we asked if we could have the copies when we checked out he told us they needed to keep them for three years!? Why on earth would you need it for 3 years? Not safe at all but what can you do about it? He said every guest has to have copies??? Parking was free but very tight! Had to wiggle ourselves in and out every time... especially when we got in after 9:00 when it was basically full. So i guess I would stay here again because the rice was right and it was clean...but hopefully the credit card thing is fixed if I decide to return??? Also was very loud traffic noise, but it helped to leave the fan on all night. :)

On the Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood. Good ok-sized rooms, straight forward, clean, Andy Warhol prints, good bathroom, seemed pretty safe. Pool was clean and over the week wasn't too busy. Decent price. A short walk to good late night food. Carpark.

The Good: Free and fast WiFi & Clean rooms, but that's about it..

The Bad: Very Small rooms, 2 people with 2 suitcases will be falling over each other. Very loud traffic noise with regular police, fire and ambulance drive bys that sound as though they're about to drive straight through your room. Staff appear to be un-interested, and although they claim offer copying and faxing service, the response to a request to print a e-mail was a very poor map to the local Kinko's (a 20 min walk down the road). Similar requests are accommodated at even the most basic hotels. Free parking is on offer, but make sure you get in before all the other guests otherwise you will have to park next door which is not secure. The included breakfast is basic at best, and probably best avoided.

We also asked 'reception' to call us a cab. What we got was a private car with no meter, when I asked the driver about a meter, he told me they don't have meter cabs in LA (which is a just a lie). Had we wanted a private car, that's what we would have requested.

I would not recommend this hotel. We would have been better off spending a little extra money and staying somewhere with a little bit of service where we would have felt a lot safer.
