We ran into this excellent B&B through some research on the Internet and were most surprised. The room in which we stayed was spacious and kept very clean, the bed and bathroom were excellent and most comfortable and a nice balcony allows one to sit outside and enjoy the night skies.
The true secret of this stay however is to meet Avik and Elaine, the hosts, who have many lovely stories to share and made us feel so welcome that we wanted to extend our stay (but could not as the rooms were already sold out). In general, who is looking for a sterile, regulated and no-frills place to stay might want to choose an Express Hotel over a B&B.
Who is thrilled however about meeting an intellectual couple, staying in a beautiful neighbourhood in walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard must not miss out on this place. We will definitely come back here should we have the opportunity to stay in Los Angeles again.

Most recommendable!!!!

I found the b&b by bed and breakfast.com...and i've checked on this site for reference...almost everybody was happy exept one who was saying it was dirty....She was absolutly right!!!!
From outside the house seems okay but as soon as you get in...so dirty...the sofas where discusting i would'nt have sit on them...And the carpet in the stair where stained everywhere...The room was large but dirty...Even the walls where dirty...There was a balcony with a fantastic old plastic table broken and dirty......
When we travel we always go et b&b and this one was the worst...So dirty i could'nt believe it...And there is no announcement of the bed and breakfast outside and she only accept cash so i am shure that they don't declare it and they improvise themselves as a bed and breakfast.....By the way i didn't even stay at the place it was too awfull..It was cheap around 100$ us a night and now i know why .....but the location was great by the way

I can only recomend this place!

Very nice location on a very quite street located between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset.

Everybody said that I should rent a car, which I didn't. The Metro train on Hollywood Boulevard is only 15 min. walk from the house (you can even take a bus to the Metro station if you don't want to walk). It will take you to Universal City (only 1 stop going north from Hollywood Boulevard) or to Downtown L.A. A Metro/bus daypass is only $3. Santa Monica (beach) is about 1 hour with Metro Bus and you don't have to worry about parking. You can even take the Metro train from LAX to Hollywood. If you like walking, you can walk from the house down Sunset Strip and down to Beverly Hills.

You can with no problem walk the Hollywood Boulevard or Sunset Boulevard/strip in the night (I was walking alone). It's actually supringsingly quite - even the weekends. A lot of shops has open in the evening, some till after midnight, and people are sitting outsite eating at restaurants till very late, like in southern Europe.

Depending on what you are planning to do, I would say that this place is very good located as a base. If you are going to go to the beach every day you would off course wan't to stay in the Santa Monica/Venice area. But if you wan't a little of everything, this is a good location. You are close to everything here; Hollywood Boulevard (mainly for tourist though...), Sunset Boulevard/Strip - with shops, Comedy Clubs, Music Clubs, Bars and Restaurants and close to the Metro bus or train that will take you anywhere you wan't.

We stayed at Elaines B & B for two nights, having booked the cheaper of the two rooms we were pleasantly suprised to receive a free upgrade to the larger room. This B& B is in a terrific location, easy walking distance to sunset and hollywood blvd. Great restaurants and bus stops. Nice stroll to manns chinese theatre and hollywood walk of fame, kodak theatre etc. Our host was Avik as Elaine was out of the country, what a character! It was just like being at home with your father walking around the house in his dressing gown. Avik was very entertaining with his history and hollywood gossip. He also offered to take us for a drive to view the Hollywood sign. And waited with us for our taxi to arrive when leaving. The room was clean and was all we needed at such a bargain price.Breakfast was very ample. Hardly noticed the pets.
Will definitely return next time in LA.

Avik and Elaine (and their sons and animals) are terrific hosts! I felt truly like I was a member of the household during my stay. I loved the interaction with everyone, although no one need worry that guests are expected to be social. Private, quiet rooms await upstairs. But that said- Avik is extroverted and convivial, an entertaining anecdote for everything. Elaine, introspective and charming, possesses a calm and unruffled European sensibility about things. And that's how you get a B&B that is at once sophisticated and laid-back. The house itself is on a quiet street and is a welcome respite after a day in the clatter and roar of metro LA. I would definitely stay again.
