Our stay with Elaine and Avik lasted only two nights but what a visit it was. Since we're europeans Avik had even more interest to show his skills and wisdom than normally. I even had to pass key-test with the front door so he would be sure we ain't gonna wake them up in a middle of the night.

As mentioned by few the place is a little bit messy but if your home is not you should choose Sheraton instead of house of wonderful hosts like Elaine and Avik.

We hade larger room with large balcony and we were satisfied with it. Breakfast was great since Avik kept telling his stories from his endless well of wisdom and knowledge of Hollywood. How many of your friends have parties with Harrison Ford?

Avik and Elaine were planning trip to Scandinavia while we were there. We helped Avik to find few sites and one hotel. I gave my business card to them just in case they end up to any problems when travelling here. About two weeks later my mobile rang. It was Elaine, not in trouble but asking us to join them for dinner. So we met again and had wonderful night here in Finland.

If you need a guide who actually knows Hollywood and you want to learn how the business is run there choose Avik and Elaine. Definately best value for your money in the area.

I cannot understand why there were some bad reviews previously but for me, this is quite a gem! Avik and Elaine were beauitful hosts who
made us feel comfortable yet did not infringe into our privacy. A hard balance to acheive but they pulled it off.

The place was reasonably clean and our room quite tidy. (the smaller green room). Although the room wasn't huge, it was enough for two..
... at a great price with no taxes. What more can I ask for?

The location's really fantastic,.. we were able to go everywhere with
much ease. And Avik's ever ready to lug out his directory book to guide us in the right direction.

Overall, a thumbs-up!! But do prepare cash for payment. We were made aware of cash payment which was fine for us.

First of all: if you like a generic, spotless clean room without any charm: get a room at the Holiday Inn. Having been there in September, I must admit this isn't the cleanest place you'll ever stay. Yes, there are some stains on the carpet, and yes, they do have a couple of (lovely) pets. For us too, it was a bit daunting when we arrive late at night.

When we woke up, Avik made us a terriffic breakfast. Fresh buns and rolls, OJ, the best coffee we'd have on our whole trip, you name it. Avik and Elaine are the friendliest, most outgoing people you'll meet on your trip. Avik took us out on a sightseeing trip, which proved to be hilarious. People said to us that LA is an ugly, soulless city, but Avik really proved them wrong.

As for the B&B itself, the location is A+. You can walk to Mann's Chinese Theatre in 10 minutes, it's a friendly, quiet and safe neighbourhood. Also, you can park your car in the street for free. The room we stayed in (the green room, they have two rooms) was OK too.

If you don't mind some spots on the carpet, this really is the best place to stay in LA:

- Location, location, location
- Neighbourhood (safe, quiet, free parking)
- THE most friendly helpsome people and pets you'll ever meet
- Great breakfast
- The best rate in town

We ran into this excellent B&B through some research on the Internet and were most surprised. The room in which we stayed was spacious and kept very clean, the bed and bathroom were excellent and most comfortable and a nice balcony allows one to sit outside and enjoy the night skies.
The true secret of this stay however is to meet Avik and Elaine, the hosts, who have many lovely stories to share and made us feel so welcome that we wanted to extend our stay (but could not as the rooms were already sold out). In general, who is looking for a sterile, regulated and no-frills place to stay might want to choose an Express Hotel over a B&B.
Who is thrilled however about meeting an intellectual couple, staying in a beautiful neighbourhood in walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard must not miss out on this place. We will definitely come back here should we have the opportunity to stay in Los Angeles again.
