“Great Mall Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I'm a big fan of Take A Bao. I had the cobb salad this time, which was scrumptious, but in the past I've tried a range of their baos and liked pretty much all of them! The staff is typically good at giving recommendations, too.

“Restaurant quality and prices at the mall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Grabbed some food really quickly before running to the movie theater. The food quality was pretty good and there are (too) many options to choose from. I'd say good food, okay value.

“Good Asian Fusion”

This place rocks. Great Asian fusion, so don't expect authentic. Try the Thai Peanut and Panko Fish.

“This is your new favorite restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

There are so many amazing things about Take a Bao. Since discovering it a year ago, we now go nearly once a week--yeah, it's that good! The atmosphere is funky, cool, with a great patio. It's trendy without the scene or the ridiculous prices of other restaurants. So yes, it is a very reasonably priced restaurant. From cocktails to entrees to dessert, everything is amazing!

Personal favorite dishes: 8 Veggie salad, The Napa salad (side dish), sumac fries, sweet potato fries, BBQ chicken wings, all of the baos... The Panang curry bowl... Ok now that I've listed pretty much the whole menu, you get the point.

Anyway, its a great place to have a wonderful night out without breaking the bank and to guarantee a delicious meal, no matter what you try.

“Flavoursome casual Asian dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

If you like hot Asian buns and casual dining go to Take a Bao on Ventura Blvd. With valet parking and street parking available it has a modern, utilitarian feel with minimalist décor and is clean and light. We went as a group of four people and decided to order and share several items. Looking around the pan Asian food looked excellent and there was a good selection of craft beers, wine, speciality cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
After checking the menu, you order at the counter and take a number to the table. We ordered a banh mi, a couple of burger bao, pulled pork baos, Hoisin steak and caramel chicken wings and Thai peanut chicken along with the best sweet potato fries ever and Asian Cobb salad. The flavours were great and everything came hot and as it was cooked, which added to the experience and with an average around $ 7 per item it was great value for the quality and quantity of the items presented.
