“Had a great time trying some really tasty food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2009

I was part of a group and so was on a Prix Fixe menu. This afforded the opportunity to try many different items, but never saw a menu or the prices. Some standouts: bok choy, rib-meat skewers, clay pot chicken and beef, grapefruit salad, and the banana cake for dessert. I’m not a wine drinker, but others in the group were quite pleased with the selections. Fabulous setting and décor. Extremely friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Would definitely go back!

“Didn't get to check out...”

Didn't get to check out the wine list but saw "Calamansi" Bellini on the drink menu and I couldn't resist - just had have it (Calamansi - small citrus fruit, native of the Philippines). Pretty good and definitely reminded me of home... Very cool, a bit swanky Asian ambiance. Good service, great menu, not too pricey. Had the Hanoi Spiced Chilean Sea Bass. It was supposed to be eaten as a lettuce wrap but I had it with brown rice - melt in your mouth delicious. Also had a bite of the of the Grilled Kumquat Chicken and the Green Curry Chicken - both flavorful but found the Grilled Kumquat chicken a bit dry. And last but not least, the desserts - had a few bites of the Banana Custard Cake, Kulfi and Warm Chocolate Cake - yummy! Will definitely go back.

“No complaints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2008

With some hesitation due to the just so-so reviews about this restaurant, we decided to try it anyway. We expected slow service and mediocre food, but were pleasantly surprised. The waitstaff was efficient and pleasant, the food was nicely presented and actually pretty good. Prices were a little high, but you're paying for atmosphere. The decor of the restaurant is great, a lot of money must have been sunk into the place.
We had an early 6pm reservation and the restaurant was just filing up. When we left, the place was jammed packed with peole waiting for tables and the bar was hopping, yet we didn't feel rushed to vacate our table.
Maybe RockSugar has started to iron out their opening bugs and hopefully will continue to improve. Portions are large and best to be shared. We asked the waitress how many to get between the 4 of us and she was right on. We wouldn't hesite to go back again.
