“Great place for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We went to the science center to see the space shuttle Endeavor. The exhibit for the shuttle is incredible enjoyable for adults and kids. The displays are great and very informational. We only had 3 hrs there so we did not see everything but the kids really enjoyed the aquarium section and the other space capsules on display. We will be back with more time when they have completed the final display for the Endeavor.

“What a great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We spent an entire day at the California Science Center and still feel like we could have spent an additional hour or two there. We have 3 children, ages 13, 10 and 7 and regularly visit different museums in different cities. Our children especially love going too science museums and can spend hours at a time in one. Several months back, our children had the privilege of seeing the Space Shuttle Endeavor flying overhead on its way to its home at the California Science Center. We thought it would be great for them to come and see it up close after seeing it being transported. We read all of the reviews and decided to arrive at the museum right when it opened so we could purchase our Space Shuttle tickets before they ran out. We had no problems choosing our preferred time to see the space shuttle. In fact, we were told we could go to see the Endeavor any time before our scheduled time since it was not that crowded at the time. We spent an hour viewing and reading all of the information about the space shuttle. Our kids were very excited about it and even took their own photos of the space shuttle and e-mailed them to their friends. The rest of the museum was also very interesting and we took our time trying to see everything. We found it hard to believe that a museum this size and quality was actually free (aside from the space shuttle tickets, which were $2 each.) We didn't get a chance to walk the grounds outside but there is a nice rose garden just outside as well as the USC campus just across the street. There is paid parking right next to the museum, but you can also take the Metro to the museum as well. This is definitely a must see!

“Wonderful place for kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

They have a lot of kid friendly activities. There are playrooms for toddlers in two sections of the center, and the best part is this place is free! I've also taken class field trips with third graders and they loved the hands on science activities. I also like that they have scientists explaining things to kids and adults, so if you have a question there's someone there to answer! Can't beat the price. I would also recommend the IMAX movies, they screen is huge and worth the splurge.
