“Great Location; Clean and Well Appointed Rooms; Fairly Priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

I was there on business for a couple days and I had an overall great experience.

The rooms were well appointed, although I must tell you that there is absolutely NO difference between a regular room and a suite. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

I checked my bed and it was bug free, everything else was extra clean and I had no problems with the internet.

My only issue is that you HAVE to have your car valeted. So you're forced to provide a tip each time. BUT, I didn't. My attitude is that if you are NOT giving an option for me to park my car, then I believe it's a general service that you provide. Therefore, I'm not tipping you.

And lastly, the breakfast was sub-par and the area to eat was extremely small.

I'd stay here again however, without hesitation.

The location of this hotel is its shining light its is very close to Hollywood Blvd just a few minutes easy stroll and handy convenience store, subway and starbucks just opposite their entrance. The staff were fantastic always very helpful and polite which made up for the negatives. These being the room, tired to say the least with holes in seat cushions and lamp shades, bed was comfy but was not able to benefit and get a lay in as we were in 305 directly under the breakfast room, the noise was terrible banging , chairs moving all from 6.30 am, then the pool wall butted up to our window so hardly any light and the large air con in the room was more like a plane engine. As an IHG Platinum member very surprised to be given such a poor room. Probably other rooms fine but don't get 305.

Room Tip: Don't go on level 3 under the breakfast room

Only one reason to stay here is the location. It is steps away from the happenings of LA. Theaters and some other Hollywood attractions are close-by. Rooms are ordinary with very ordinary breakfast. The street outside is crowded and noisy.

The suit we booked had a strange way to access with multiple lifts and passages to negotiate.

We spent 4 nights here and everything was just about perfect. Great location, just 5 minutes walk from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, bus tours, great restaurants etc. The rooms were pleasant, the staff were very helpful and excellent valet parking - although this did cost extra, but worthwhile. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. The travel agent picked this hotel due to it's close proximity to Hollywood Blvd and warned us it would probably be the roughest hotel we stayed in during our tour of the USA. She was right.

Yes the location was great for getting to Hollywood Blvd and some great bars and restaurants, the Hollywood Bowl and the underground. The room was neat and tidy but outdated and the breakfast that was included was horrible.

In short, I wouldn't come here again.

This hotel is in the most amazing location as it is easy walking distance to so many of Hollywood's attractions!

The hotel is very clean and rooms are spacious, staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

My only main complaint with this property is that it is quite the "disjointed" hotel---what I mean is that you have to ride different elevators in different areas to get to your floors. To me it seems like they built the hotel and then were able to add on additional rooms and added another building on so it is somewhat of a maze to get from "point A" to "point B".

This hotel offers a full breakfast which is super, recommend getting there a little earlier as it can get busy.

Rooms are nicely decorated, very updated--main complaint in room is that the room type we had, we had 2 queen beds and a pullout....the pullout/sofa bed is horrible! The mattress is so thin that our kids could feel the coils. We asked for more blankets to kind of cushion this but they were never brought up (they may have gotten lost in the maze!)

It is approx a one and a half block walk to get to Hollywood Boulevard and within a block or two on this famous street you will find all the main Hollywood attractions such as Hollywood Walk of Fame, Gauman's Chinese Theatre, the Dolby Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum as well as so much more is located. Hollywood & Highland mall is right there and you just go up to about the third level and you can see the Hollywood sign, Hollywood Bowl is extremely close as well.

This hotel was perfect for those wanting to see all Hollywood has to offer! I would highly recommend it!

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel over the Holiday weekend and the hotel was sadly understaffed the entire time. However, each staff member that we spoke with from the valets to the front desk and managers (Omar) were friendly and competent so I think they were doing their best to satisfy us. We were given early check-in the day we arrived and late check-out the day we left, so in that way the hotel was accommodating. however we were on the 8th floor and after leaving our hotel around 8:30am and returning at 12:30pm, our room had still not been cleaned. The maids finally arrived on our floor sometime around 3pm, and then it was only one lady by herself who did a very fast job of it. The entire hotel except for the lobby was extremely hot and stuffy, especially the elevators and hallways. Also staying above the 5th floor means you have to take 2 elevators, which is an inconvenience to go up and down and you get easily lost in the halls. Upon arriving our room was 87 degrees and smelled musty. I turned the air conditioner on immediately and it took over an hour to get down to 75 degrees. We had to run the AC pretty much 24/7 to keep the temperature comfortable for us. Other's have stated that the 8th floor was recently remodeled, but it still seemed adequate at best to me. The lampshade had a hole in it, the sheets were stained, the carpet seemed questionably clean and the plumbing in the bathroom did not work well. Room had hardly any decor and was very plain with no red duvet as pictured on website. Toilet did not easily flush and there was about 2 inches of standing water when taking a shower. We booked through hotels.com and specifically requested a microwave and were told that this could be fulfilled, however upon checking in at the hotel we were told they do not have microwaves for the guest rooms and we had to use the one in the lobby. Would not have minded if the lobby wasn't so far away and didn't have to go through hot hallways and 2 slow and sticky elevators to get there! Major problem- the tiny workout room did not have the AC turned on. My husband went for a workout and called when he first arrived asking someone to turn on the AC. After a 35 min. Workout, he returned upstairs to our room and no staff ever came to turn on the AC in the fitness center. That is just unsafe, because it was an extremely hot weekend. The 2nd day my husband used the fitness center he called and waited and someone did turn in the AC prior to his workout. Twice the during our stay I called he front desk- once for a fitted sheet for he pullout bed, and once for a clean towel. Both times we were told that the front desk person was alone and the request took quite a long time. Who wants to wait 20 min. For a sheet at 11pm when you want to go to sleep? And why wasn't there one on the pullout in
the first place? In my opinion, this hotel is sadly outdated, badly managed and severely overpriced. I know it's Hollywood, but $22 for valet parking at a 2 1/2 star hotel seems very steep to me. Chose this hotel for its walking proximity to the Hollywood Bowl and was satisfied with that. In all, would not stay at this hotel again.
