After doing the Disney theme parks for 3 days, I was not overly excited about another theme park.
Our kids on the other hand were so excited lol.
When you arrive you'll be faced with parking options, Valet, Self Park (covered) or Self Park (uncovered). We went for self park covered and for $15 we thought it was a good choice as it was a minute walk to the entrance. The uncovered ($10) is like 5 -7 minute walk and if you have little kids walking in the hot sun is not worth it, upgrade.
We had Southern California City Passes and getting into Universal was a breeze. We then headed straight for the Universal tour and this located at the back of the park. I'd recommend doing it straight away as it's informative and worth it but do it as soon as the park opens. Then you can do the other rides as you please. After being at Disney, the rides were so so, with exception to Transformers and Jurassic Park. Make sure you visit the other shows and plan, as they are only on a few times a day. We didn't have font line passes as queues were 10mins at the most. We had friends who had VIP passes and said they had a blast. Overall we enjoyed our time but can't help feel we were a little theme parked out.
