My husband and I stayed at Emma's for 3 nights in the carriage house. This B&B is about 5 miles off highway 80, in the country and extremely quiet, which was great for us since we are both very noise sensitive when we are away from home. Both the room and bathroom are large and very comfortable, but most importantly, very clean. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room with a bottle of complementary sparkling cider. A delicious breakfast is served in the main house in a cozy setting.
I do have a recommendation for the innkeeper - since the carriage house is not attached to the main house, and the door to the kitchen is locked until breakfast is served, it would be nice to have a coffee maker and coffee in the carriage house for your guests that like their coffee EARLY in the morning (around 6am)!
This B&B does have a separate building, directly across from the main house & carriage house, which is used for receptions, reunions, parties, etc., and depending on the event, could be noisy. We were out for the evening and returned to our room about 10pm and there was a party going on. Our first thought was "uh-oh" and our second was "how long is this going to last"! The doors to the building were open and even though it was at a lower than normal volume, we heard the music. We also heard some of the guests in the parking lot as they were leaving - shouting and whopping it up. Fortunately for us, the event ended by 11pm and all was quiet. A word of advice - check with the innkeeper to find out if there is an event going on and how long into the night will it last. We were fortunate that the party ended at a reasonable hour.
With this said, we would strongly consider staying at Emma's again when in the Sacramento area. The
