“5 days and 4 nights of comfort and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2011

My girlfriends daughter just got married and we set up a block of rooms here for family and friends to stay during the day(s) around the wedding. When setting up the block we came down to check out the rooms and they were all to happy to help and went out of their way. The maya next door had a very rude staff and were unwilling to help us at the time of finding where to set up a block of rooms so they lost out. The whole time everybody was very happy and the free morning breakfast was a nice addition. Mon thru Wed they have a lil dinner wine and beer spread also. The rooms were comfortable and clean. ANy complaint if any was that the cleaning staff had to be caqlled on two of the four days cause they took so long to come clean our room. When they did clean they did do a fine job. Once again very clean and very accomidating. YOu can also walk over the bridge and have a host of resturants and a movie theatre at your disposal. Each room has a small kitchenette and a freezer that makes ice. Silverware and basic kitchen tools. Very nice. I would stay again if I found myself in that situation in that part of LB.

We stayed in the deluxe corner 1 bedroom suite, while our friends were in a standard 1 bedroom suite. Both rooms were very well appointed but our room was a blessing with a 3 year old.

The hotel is a little out of the way for an extended stay tourist, bt as we only had two nights and wanted to be closer to LAX but also be able to travel to Burbank and Beuna Park, this seemed a suitable compromise.

Stay were friendly on check-in and check-out and the breakfast was very good especially as we arrived late in th emorning and were still spoilt for choice.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights prior to cruising out of the Port of Long Beach. We loved this hotel. The property is newer and very well maintained. Our room was beautiful and spacious - a full kitchen/dining area, living area, separate bedroom and bath. We joked that you could fit several in our shower.

If there are any cons to this property it would be a) parking charges of $10 per night and b) location to downtown. Unless you have a car, you'll need to plan on cab fare to get to anything. But even with those downsides, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I stayed here on business (after making several trips to the LA area and staying in the hotels around LAX). Even though it is not close to LAX, I will never go back to LAX hotels again. The room was clean, comfortable, filled with amenities (even complimentary microwave popcorn) and I had a great view of the water. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and the flatscreen swivels to be viewed from the dining table, the couch, or the bed. Staff was friendly, and the free breakfast had everything from a hot oatmeal bar, make your own waffles, eggs, fruit, cereal, and all kinds of extras. I will definitely go back on my next business trip to the LA area.

Although there is no restaurant or bar, there is a mini-convenience store that sold frozen entrees, beer, wine, and snacks. Also, there are menus in the room from a variety of local restaurants that will deliver to the hotel.

Traveling with 5 month old twins is a challenge. Even the most pedestrian of tasks become difficult so my wife and I were somewhat on edge taking our kids to their first hotel weekend away from home. Once we arrived, Eric and his professional team took excellent care of us, to include making special provisions for our boys' needs and making sure we had everything we needed to have as normal a stay as possible. The room felt very new, was spotless and well appointed with cookware, flatware, a full sized fridge and a real coffee maker. We had a room with a bathtub and it was about as good as one would expect a normal bathtub to be. Our room offered an unobstructed view of the Queen Mary, the LA River, the Queens Way Bridge and downtown. The breakfast was above average (or at least it exceeded my expectations) and the ample supply of the LA Times was much appreciated. Free wireless internet, very nice/modern/comfortable lobby, pleasant decor were all nice touches that made our stay enjoyable.

The location was convenient to the freeway (I would have had some difficulty getting to the property if I didn't have a GPS telling me when to turn - although eventually I figured out that if you just follow the signs to the Queen Mary you will make it to the hotel) and we took a pleasant walk across the bridge to the Aquarium of the Pacific, which I also recommend. Definitely will return to this Residence Inn next time we come to town.

New construction, good view. $10 per night parking if use their lot. Breakfast buffet seemed popular in the morning. It's very close the Catalina ferry terminal (walking distance over the bridge) and cruise pier.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while waiting for our cruise ship departing from Long Beach.

If you are using the Port of Long Beach as your embarkation port, I would highly recommend this hotel for your pre-cruise stay. This hotel is so close to the port that it only takes 15-20 minutes to walk the distance. Unfortunately, since we had luggage the desk staff called a cab for us.

This is a faily new hotel, completed just a few years ago. The building is impeccably clean and is run by a well educated and trained staff.

My wife and I had a corner room that had windows facing in two different directions. One view was of the harbor and the second was of the retired Queen Mary cruise liner. If you have a choice, try to get a room on the upper floors as this expands your breathtaking views tremendously.

As like most Marriott properties this hotel was very clean and the staff extremely helpful.
As we stayed Friday and Saturday nights, we found the breakfast area quite congested on Saturday and Sunday morning. All the tables in breakfast seating area were taken but we found space to eat in the large seating area by the entrance. So many people were having brakfast both mornings, the staff was finding it difficult to replenish the breakfast items.

There are a number of restaurants nearby, but our favorite was a dining area aboard the Queen Mary. The food was probably only average but the nostagia from this ship was extraordinary.
The ship is located about a 10-15 minute walking distance from the hotel on a paved path along the bank of the river. A great early evening walk.
After leaving the Queen Mary hop aboard the free shuttle which takes you almost back to the hotel.

A perfect weekend stay,

Ray Potter
