“Great rooms...very large hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

This is a very large convention hotel..it was not very busy when we were there but I can imagine standing on line for check in...
Hotel is nice...typically Hyatt with atrium...rooms are very nice and large...bathrooms could be a bit large....the flusher on the toilet broke before leaving...but these things happen.
Valet staff quick as well as bell staff..
on site starbucks not very quick....

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Just OK. Plus was that it was close to the convention center negative was that I was there with a dance convention the hotel did not seem to be expecting though I hear they come every year. Line at check in was long, the kids ran up and down the halls to 1:00 in the morning, line at the lobby coffee cafe was over 30 minutes just for a tea in the morning. Very understaffed at the desk and at the outlets at the hotel.
As mentioned I did not like the hand when you entered the roon especially since mine was rather dusty. Do not think the housekeeper spent much time in the room maybe because of all the kids.

“Longbeach Hyatt- perfect place to start a cruise from San Pedro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

We were looking for a hotel close to the San Pedro docks where our Princess Cruise was to depart from. We want something that had some amenities close to it as we wanted to spend a few days in LA before leaving on our cruise. The closest hotel to the Dock didnt appear to have many touristy sites close by so we looked towards Longbeach. The Hyatt is attached to the Longbeach convention center and across the road from the small boat harbour that is a major tourist attraction with restaurants and shopping.

This hotel is very nice with all the amenities.

“Excellent comfort and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

This was my first stay at a Hyatt property. I was travelling on business to a conference held at the convention centre next door. The location of this hotel was great! I could walk straight from my room to the conference in less than 5mins. There are a load of restaurants just across the street at The Pike, further up the road on Pine Ave, and across at the Shoreline Village. There is also a free shuttle right outside the hotel to get around downtown Long Beach.

The room was very comfortable. There was ample space for working with a desk, and a sofa, chairs and coffee table for relaxing in front of the TV. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean and tidy. The room might not suit families but as a solo business traveller it was better than I have experience in other hotels.

My only criticisms are the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear people late at night and the windows are darkened so that during the day there isn't enough natural sunlight shining through. The restaurant is a bit slow in their service compared to the rest of the hotel.

The room service was very quick and friendly. And housekeeping were very accommodating and friendly. The front desk staff were helpful as well.

Being jetlagged flying in from Australia, the room & bed were more than comfortable for me to get a good nights sleep before my conference. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling on business to the Long Beach area.

Room Tip: Rooms at the end the corridor away from the elevators are quieter.

“Nice hotel, great location if you are going to the Convention Center!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

This is a great hotel, very modern and clean. From check-in to check-out, the service was wonderful. I was there for a Travel Show, so needed to be at the Convention Center, and was pleased to find it was pretty much attached to the hotel, only a short walk outside, very nice, since the whole area was having a cold snap and I was freezing! Its just a short walk to lots of restaurants and movie theaters, so there are things to do in the evenings.
The room itself was very large and well appointed. I had to search for the coffeemaker, but found it in a cabinet.
As mentioned before, the apple in the hand night light was creepy, and there are no towel racks in the bathroom to hang wet towels, but those were my only negatives!
The staff was very accommodating of my special food needs, I had room service dinners twice, being too cold and tired to go out, and both times they assured me that my meal would be gluten free and I would not get sick, and they were right, I didn't! That's very important-they understand food issues and can adapt foods to them. Likewise in the morning, I wasn't able to eat the breakfast buffet, which had so many wonderful things on it, it was well woth the price, but the waiter assured me that the food I did order would be prepared separately and without cross contamination. And it was!
My room faced the harbor, and I loved opening all the shades and looking out onto the water and the Queen Mary-so peaceful after a day at the Travel Show.
I truly recomend that you stay at this Hyatt when you come to Long Beach-it's right in the thick of things and the staff takes very good care of you!
