“Long Beach Marathon Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

I stayed here the night before the Long Beach marathon (this is the host hotel). We checked in just after peak check in time and the lady assisting us was fantastic! Polite, knowledgeable, and friendly! (I believe her name was Melissa?) Our room was on the 15th floor, she even inquired if this would be okay as she knew some people preferred lower floors. She also made sure to point out the dinner specials for the marathon (pasta buffet) and that the coffee bar would be open earlier than normal on marathon morning.
The room was very clean and had a great view of the beach and ocean. The towels were brand new, which was the only slight issue as they were very linty (white towels, lots of white lint) but that really wasn't a big deal. The room was also very quiet, as was the entire floor even though we passed people coming and going.
Prior to dinner we had drinks in the lobby bar. The service was quick and wait staff was attentive. Food service at the bar for appetizers was pretty fast. Garlic fries were great!
I would recommend this hotel and stay here again for events in Long Beach.

We stayed here before our cruise that left from San Pedro. We were upgraded to a higher room upon request. Clean & quiet rooms with a great view of Shoreline Village. Plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby. Only downside for us was a lack of included children's tv programming in the room. It's an extra, pay per view charge for children's tv shows. Great experience over all!

I stayed there for one night for a meeting.
The room was decorated in the clean line, uncluttered metropolitan style - very pleasant.
Room size seemed quite large for on King's bed.
I particularly liked the entry way into my room where I was greeted with recessed wall that had a glassed hand holding a green apple towards the entry door. It was nicely lit with a small spot light - the overall effect is not unlike a museum diplay. It was unique and stylized - a nice touch.

The lobby was cool looking, not too grand.

The main entry way to the hotel was somewhat tucked next to and underneath the Long Beach convention center where Hyatt was physically linked with. Overall, a less impressive than if it were a stand along grand entry way.

Driving into long beach on freeway 710, Long Beach being a working port, the sight was very industrialized. Not impressive at all.
But once arrived at the waterfront district where the hotel was and all the other attractions ie, Queen Mary/Spruce Goose and other attractions, the area was very nice indeed to walk and run along the walk ways there. I was surprised and impressed.

Overyall a very pleasant short stay. No complaint about the room or hotel at all.

Room Tip: ask for the harbor view rooms. Better veiw. Possibly cost more??

If you want to be exactly where all the action is at the seaport or the beach, in Long Beach, this is the hotel for you.

During check-in, we were upgraded to a high floor, corner king room that had panoramic views of the harbor, seaport and Queen Mary. The room was perfect!

When booking we used the Hyatt Free time, so not only did we recieve a free night, but also breakfast buffet for two was included. The daily breakfast buffet was very good, but the wait stuff were great. They were so helpful and were very knowledgeable about things to do in the area. One of which was to make sure that we visited Naples and walk along the canals. What a great tip. It's a must see if you're in the area!

All in all we had a great stay. We really liked the hotel's new renovations. When we return, we will definitely ask for the corner king room. Our room was perfect. One more thing, the automatic sun shades worked great!

Kudos to this Hyatt, for the location, the renovation but especially for your team. Great job!

Room Tip: If you can book using the Free time or AAA breakfast rate, it's well worth it. The breakfast bu...

This property is located in a prime location of Long Beach. Just a short walk to Shoreline Village and countless restaurants. The rooms were nice, clean and modern. The restroom was not too big.
At check in we were greeted by a very courteous lady that assisted us very quickly and asked us the reason for our visit. Since it was our wedding anniversary, she sent us champagne and cake to our room that night. A very nice touch!
The views were fantastic! We had uninterrupted views of the port of LA, the Queen Mary, and all the Long Beach coast.
Overall, a great value for the room, service, location and beautiful views!!

Room Tip: Request the rooms with the view of the harbor. It is worth the $20 extra.

I stay here for 5 nights in early September.

Staff: I arrived around 10pm, and the front desk lady is very friendly to help me to check in. She also answers my questions nicely. One of the management I met the next day is also very nice and polite. He still recognizes me on the last day of my stay. Housekeeping persons are nice, friendly, and very helpful. They know their guests.

Lobby: Very spacious, bright, and clean

Room: They just finished remodeling about 6 months ago, so the room and furniture is very modern. There's a vestibule when entering the room, and this is a very good design. Big work desk and ergonomic chair. The bath room is not big, but designed with quality material and one of standard Hyatt colors: light gray. Very comfortable bed. The bottom of the cabinet beside the bed has an automatic night light when all lights are turned off at night. Got a room around the corner on the 11th floor , so I can see the city, park, and beach view.

Breakfast: I choose buffet, and the food is good. Server is nice and friendly. I suggest to buy hotel breakfast package.

Swimming pool: outdoor with many chairs to recline on under the umbrellas.

Shopping and dining: Walk for about 10-15 mins to Long Beach downtown. Some restaurants , Starbucks, and convenience stores are there. There's also a pier where a Japanese restaurant and PF Chang are located just across the hotel. Pacific Aquarium is also within walking distance. However, if you want to see more, then car rental is recommended.

Room Tip: Upper level around the corner

My daughter and I have just got back from a short stay at this great hotel. Our room had the most fabulous view of the beach, city and the river. All of the staff could not have been more hopefully. We asked loads of questions as we has not stayed in this area before. The rooms where lovely beds comfortable bathroom very nice all very pleasant. The pool area very nice a bit noise from the road but not to much of a problem... Would go back anytime.

Room Tip: The only thing I would have liked is a spa at the hotel
