Having stayed at a very nice room in this Holiday Inn in December 2013, I booked a suites at the same hotel for a family trip that included our adult son. The quality of the room in the Tower and the suite did not match. While the two room, two bath suite was spacious, there were many issues needing attention. For example, in the room with the pullout bed, both closet doors were off their tracks when we arrived. (My husband put them back on their tracks). A knob was missing from the dresser. My son reported that the water pressure in the shower was erratic; he used the shower in the master bedroom the next night.
In the main bedroom, the king bed was made in a contemporary fashion and looked inviting. But when I adjusted the thermostat of the air conditioning, the front panel fell off. A maintenance man came quickly to repair it, but this and the other items mentioned indicated a lack of attention to detail to me. While the room was generally clean, I touched the top of the tissue box in the bathroom--it needed serious attention. An oversight, to be sure, but one that had gone on for some time.
While I appreciate products labeled "green," the bath products were rather stiff and unyielding. I would recommend looking into another line of paper products.
I appreciated the small fridge in the "living room."
The suites are almost under the 405 freeway, and I feared the noise level, but inside, it wasn't too bad once you turned on the fan of the cooler to a certain level.
The rooms looked rather tired. The furnishings in the room I stayed at in the Tower was quite updated, but this suite was in need of updating.
For the price, I would have liked at least a continental breakfast--almost standard these days.
I looked on the hotel website, and I noticed that the general manager very courteously and professionally responded to every review, both positive and negative. This bodes well to me. I think that the suites should match the quality of the rooms in the Tower, and I hope steps will be taken to bring them up to this standard. I would say that as of the 4th of July weekend, 2014, the suites were a disappointment and needed attention. However, since the manager seems to be responsive and interested in making sure that all guests have a first-rate experience, I would be optimistic that the current suites will be renovated to make them match the rest of the hotel.
