We stayed 2 nights here and were pleased with some aspects and not pleased with others. The lobby and pool space are really lovely and give you a good impression of the hotel. And I think there must be two types of rooms here - recently renovated and modern and then older and run down. We were in one of these older types. The space was clean but quite banged up. We asked a maintenance man to help us fix the loud squeaky door which he did right away. The full sized mattress left us both with sore backs in the morning. The breakfast available is quite handy and nicely maintained.
What makes this an average to poor review however was the front desk staff. I spoke with about 4 different people in our two days and only one (the only female) was at all friendly. The other folks were not helpful when I asked questions about places nearby or the shuttle service and I got the impression that I was imposing on their time.
We have family in Long Beach and will be returning to the area but not to this establishment.
