“not too bad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2006

I stayed at the days inn for one night only, room 110 not bad, clean.
The front desk was very helpfull. The neighborhood isn't the best . This is the cheapest hotel I was able to find in Long Beach. The Queen Mary, Aquarium of the pacific are very closed by (10 min away).

For a Days Inn hotel this was disgraceful. I checked in at 3 pm and checked out at 10 pm, I couldn't stay in this hotel as it was dirty and run down and was in a scary part of town. The manager was rude and indifferent, couldn't care less, this place should not be on Expedia or any other travel website.

My mistake was not checking with TripAdvisor prior to booking this dump. We are frequent travelers, and this was the next to worst hotel experience we've had, only surpassed by a Breckenridge hotel with a biker fight in the parking lot. A slumlord must own the place. It is rundown to the point of being a joke. We had three rooms. The worst had a picture torn from the wall, a clock radio tortured by cigarettes, filthy carpet, insect-infested bathroom, no towels, etc. None of the rooms had working TV remotes, and the beds were like rocks. We were only there for one night, or we would have moved. When we complained, the front desk person said he couldn't do anything, but to write a complaint to the managment. That would be a waste of a stamp because they clearly don't care. Days Inn should be ashamed to have their name on this disaster!! Avoid this place!! Consider yourself warned.

I've been there between Nov. 11-17, 2005. Not impressed at all with the place.
They advertise "Complimentary Continental Breakfast"; however, on Nov. 12 the gentleman at the reception told me that for that day they were serving coffee only.
They advertise "High Speed Internet Access". It wasn't the case. Moreover, the phone in room wasn't functional. I asked the receptionist, on Nov. 16 four times to connect the phone, and finally he had to admit that it does not work.
Cockcroaches everywere.

I drove for 3.5 hours to get to the Comfort Inn, and was immediately disappointed. The hotel itself is not half of what it seems in the pictures. In fact, it was located in a rather sketchy part of town, across the street from a laundrymat and used car dealership. While the desk staff was helpful, they placed us in a room that was situated behind a small retail center, which means we had to walk by the dumpsters just to get to our room. We asked for a room change, and they gave us a smoking room, resulting in a third room switch. While I know the continental breakfast is free and all, the least they could do is have a few bagels. Instead, they actually had a loaf of old bread for the patrons to eat, along with some cereal. Not exactly the meal of champions. However, the rooms themselves are decent, if you tell yourself how much you are actually paying for it. Overall, I would not stay here again, just because I really don't enjoy lugging all my stuff from room to room and eating horrid food, as well as not feeling unbelievably safe at night. A nice room on the first try, a bagel, and a good night's sleep is not too much to ask, but apparently it was too much for the Comfort Inn to comply with.

This hotel displays "5 suns" in the lobby. They must have stolen the sign from another hotel! The rooms are disgusting - room 231 was full of cigarette burns in the carpeting, sink, toilet and tub. There were burn marks from the iron in the carpet. Room 204 had a broken door lock and the carpet was so dirty it made feet turn black. The parking lot had a man who seemed to be sleeping in his van [--]. The front desk told us on the phone that the "cruise package" included a shuttle to the ship. On departure day, they called us a shuttle that cost $20.00! How nice.

Not in a good area! Parking at hotel is horrible. Looks like in a run-down scarey area, did not feel safe. Did not see the rooms, arrived at 1am, and left. They had my credit card and did not charge the full night, but charged me 30.00 anyway.
