Stayed here for my wedding (off-location wedding) and the accommodations were outstanding. The bargain rate room I booked for pre-wedding was huge, spacious, great view. The room for after we were married was equally as amazing, but an even better view.
The staff were outstanding through and through. With another wedding happening on-site, they were at full capacity and still managed to make my guests feel special, everyone was saying how great the hotel was, and parking was never an issue. My wife checked in with Aubrey, and myself at a different time with Andrew. Both of us felt that they were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I had forgotten to book a late check-out and had a problem because of the other wedding and the number of guests. The following morning I spoke with Vesela and she very easily made an adjustment and got me the late check-out.
With the amount of people celebrating, there were bound to be some unruly guests who celebrated a bit too hard, and noise issues were handled swiftly by the security staff, ensuring we had a peaceful stay.
My wife told me that when she was preparing and getting in her wedding dress, there were issues encountered with insufficient towels for the sheer volume of people showering, getting ready in her room (way more than common) or helping her get ready. Additionally, certain necessities ran out because of how many people. Housekeeping was notified and showed up almost as the phone was hung up to ensure everything was up to par with no further problems.
The restaurant on site, Fuego, has an incredible menu. I highly recommend sitting on the patio because the view is a huge plus. Their dinner was outstanding, with out waiter Kelly being very helpful and understanding of the larger party. We didn't feel rushed at all, and the drinks were great (tequila drinkers will LOVE this place). Their breakfast is reasonably priced, and offers a mix of off-the-menu food and a buffet. I am told the breakfast burrito was very tasty, and I wish I had ordered it, but the buffet had a lot of great food, including very tasty bacon. I loves me some bacon!
The only slight deterrent is the location, it can be hard to find and the area itself is nestled in the Long Beach harbor shipping docks, walking distance from a port for cruise ships and the Queen Mary. Traffic was never an issue, with the only negative thing heard being "it was hard to find" but once you get there, however, you will never want to leave, also the next thing my guests told me.
Obviously this place holds a special importance to me and I'll be revisiting it, but even the special occasion aside, I have higher standards than most for service, and get ticked off easily by bad service or cut corners. That never once was the case, and I'd eagerly recommend it to anyone visiting.
