Hubby and I were looking for a cheap overnight stay. There are cheaper motels, but we brought our dog with us and most motels wouldn't allow a pet. We paid $80 for the night, which was a lot cheaper than a room at a better hotel plus a pet fee. The room was small but comfortable. Generally clean, but could use a heavy scrub. It's a "mo"tel for a reason. Staff is very friendly. Room was just ok.

This place is soooo dirty. For instance, I walked around the room with bare feet and the next thing I noticed is that the bottom of my feet where black. The place smells old and damp. The wifi is not free. No refrigerator and no microwave! I stayed here because I was in between apartments. My new apartment wasn't ready for five days because the prperty management company was painting in it so I had to go somewhere until the new place was ready. I decided to leave after the second day. I found another motel in Los Alamitos that was $52 a night and was way more clean and plus it had a swimming pool!! Please don't stay here...it gross. There are so many other places that have cleaner rooms and also other amenities.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else!

Typical motel 6 - cheap, clean, no frills. I stayed because it is adjacent to LBSU, is cheap and my wife wasn't along. Good bed, thin towels, old tv. Better value than that Best Western down the street. OK hotel if you don't plan on spending much time in your room. Ran wall cooler all night to drown out street noise - at very busy intersection.

Please note that there are two (2) Motel 6 properties in Long Beach. This one is located next to the VA Hospital, CSULB, Ralph's, CVS, gas station, Jack In The Box. It is further from the "tourist" areas of Long Beach, but much closer to Belmont Shores, Mothers Beach and 2nd Street. It is a small property, but well maintained and in a great location!!! There are no bars on windows or scary neighbors.

There are two Motel 6 locations in Long Beach and we opted for this one due to several reviews on this site and others that complained about the bad neighborhood that the other location was in. This was a standard Motel 6 but note that prices were elevated due to a weekend stay, which is a real bummer. $85 for one night, two adults in a non smoking room with one queen bed. That's the cheapest I found in Long Beach for one Saturday night, since we were doing brunch at the Queen Mary on Sunday. The room was fine, generally seemed clean, the locks on the door and window were secure. I'd requested a quiet room, and they put us upstairs in the back of the property which was probably as good as it was going to get since the motel is on a busy street. There was some noise from the traffic but nothing that kept us awake. Air conditioning worked fine, which was good since it was unseasonably warm for February. One big drawback about this place is that the location makes it very difficult to access if you are traveling southbound on 7th, which most people will be since they will be coming from downtown Long Beach (convention center, Aquarium, Queen Mary.) You cannot turn left into the driveway, so you are forced to travel approx. 4 blocks down to make a u-turn, to come back and make a right into the very narrow driveway. That may not sound too bad but the traffic on this street is very heavy and getting in and out is an annoying challenge. Otherwise, the stay was okay, what one would expect from Motel 6 but unfortunately pricey due to the date of our stay and the area. Also note that this isn't super close to all the tourist attractions; approx 5 miles away from most, so be aware that walking anywhere isn't really an option. However, I wasn't able to find a motel/hotel closer to the city center that was under $100.

  • Liked — Price was the best in a pretty expensive area
  • Disliked — Bad access from the street into the parking lot

I stayed here on one occassion. What a hideous place. I could not dial out, no shower curtain, ( of course when I showered watered went everywhere...and I left it for them to deal with.) and defintiely not clean. And sometimes they have the nerve to charged in the $60's. Front desk person a looser.
They could care less. They may have remodeled the rooms a few years ago but, but the place is well worn now....dirty...dirty...dirty.
Use only if you're desparate.

Typical Motel 6 quality. Stayed there June 10. The walls are thin so heard the next door neighbor and people walking by in the hallway. Some traffic noise. Next door is an IHOP which is convenient and didn't have to search for a place to eat.
