“Daily Special Chalk Board - Best Under $20 Values in Beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Like many, I first saw At Last Cafe on Diner, Dives and Drive Inns. So I had to seek it out. It's not quite downtown, parking can be a little tricky, but it's worth the hassel. Order from the Daily Special Chalk board. Great Value for the price. On this trip I had the carmalized Pear Salad for starters followed by blackened swordfish with Mango Salsa. This dish would be over $30 dollars elsewhere, here it's under $20!! Fatntastic Deal, Fantastic food. Pictures don't lie. Love it.

“Not as good as the hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

We went here based on the tripadvisor #3 ranking, but it really wasn't THAT good. Average at best. Service was good, food was fine but nothing special. They did make an off-the-menu grilled cheese sandwich just for my little boy.

“Hot, small, cramped Cafe”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

This cafe has had enjoyed a great local reputation, quite undeserved. There is no parking which is quite common here in Long Beach, but I really mean NO parking in this population dense downtown neighborhood. There was no air conditioning in 95 degree weather, no ventilation and we were packed like sardines, so you could hear everyone's conversations. We got menus, but it seemed hard for the one waitress who seemed to be managing the whole room by herself. The owner managed the high volume of take-out which I guess is for those who gave up on parking. We finally get to order, and my shrimp was overcooked and barely warm, my daughter's sandwich was doughy and unimaginative. Just a very bad experience!

“Amazing Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Found this gem after searching Triple D approved joints. The staff was gracious and fun, the decor unpretentious and the food indescribable. The chef/owner has an eclectic music mix playing from his iPod and the place is bright and cheery. Brick Chicken was delightful. My date had the French Dip and we shared a grilled artichoke with an aioli drizzle that was out of this world. Finished up with the most delectable blueberry tapioca - creamy smooth and loaded with fresh blueberries. Make reservations though - the place is quite popular.

“Can't imagine a more perfect local dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We happened to drive through Long Beach on our way from LA to an Angels game. Checked this place out because of DDD. Talk about living up to the hype! Everything was perfect - food is excellent, service is efficient and quick, and prices were mind boggling (in a good way). If i lived in the area, I would be going to this place often, it would definitely be my go to restaurant. Way to go! I had the green goddess salad (very nice, a little too much dressing), and the stuffed pork chop (totally delicious). Someone else at my table had the pork belly, which they enjoyed. Hope to be back someday soon! By the way, if you order lemonade, which is great by the way, they keep refilling it for free!
