“Basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Not a lot to say. Free parking and wifi. A basic motel in a reasonable location. The place is very dated and tired. It was a place to sleep and that's about it. I think it was overpriced considering no breakfast on offer. A large supermarket and a few bars nearby but much better places to stay.

“Great Inn in Newport, RI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Beech Tree Inn and Cottage was wonderful! Three couples ventured to Newport for a weekend among friends. We had three great rooms in the Cottage. The innkeepers were warm, friendly, and more than accommodating. Our rooms were tastefully decorated, immaculate, with all amenities (thick towels, hairdryer, nice soaps and shampoos, Kleenex, good light for reading, very comfortable beds, etc). Irena made a delicious omelet – others ate the French toast and blueberry pancakes with oohs and aahs. They set up a fabulous three hour tour of the city with Tammy and Sam (a native) to give us a taste of the Colonial and Gilded ages in Newport. They also gave us great suggestions for in-depth touring for the following two days. The location of the Inn is ideal – in a quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, and many shops.

“Excellent Small Hotel/Motel in Long Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

In October 2011 I spent nearly 3 weeks in this hotel, I did not find it on Tripadvisor or any other website but I just walked in and asked because it was a perfect location for me, easy walk into town, to the beach, or easy to get to by car.

The room was clean and well equipped, it had air-conditioning that worked well and was not noisy. The room was compact without ever feeling too small.

The manager and cleaning staff were very friendly and polite, the price seems to be very flexible but I was staying for nearly 3 weeks.

My friend stayed in another room and that was identical.

Wi-Fi was free and fast.

I will certainly stay here again. It does not have a pool, a restaurant or anything except the room.

Compared to anything else I saw in Long Beach this is exceptional value.

Room Tip: Upper rooms are probably quieter.
