“Expected more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

In short, the service was very good but the food was disappointing, maybe because the reviews were so glowing. My village Greek salad was fairly crude - the veggies were all different sizes and looked more mangled than chopped. The grilled salmon was oily and fishy - not fresh tasting at all. The prices are on the high side. I've eaten at two other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in Long Beach - both much better than George's.

“Lambchops = Meat Lollipops”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

The lambchops are amazing here. They are always succulent and seasoned to perfection. This is reason enough to come here, but the rest of the food is really good as well. The saganaki (flaming cheese) is always excellent. I recommend getting it without the olives. The saganaki and moussaka are delicious and taste very authentic. This place gets packed around 7 so get their early. They do half price wine during the week which can help with the bill. While you wont eat for super cheap here, you will love your food. the servers are always pleasant and the location on 2nd st is great. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but its long beach

“OPA!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Our first night in Long Beach we walked past this restaurant and the aroma was wonderful. George, the owner, kindly met us outside and invited us in, seating us right on the sidewalk. The food was great and the service was quite friendly. We returned for dinner our last night in Long Beach and enjoyed both meals.

“Pleasant Sunday Afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

The location on 2nd Street in busy Belmont Shore was good. Sunday afternoon's, the whole street is busy and bustling with locals and tourists. The restaurant itself is cute and well kept. The hostess on the sidewalk encouraged us in. The food was not as good as I would have hoped for and the waiter was new and was still learning the ropes. The busboy did a good job topping up water and soda.

The lamb on the sandwich was somewhat tough and the gyros sandwiches were OK, without being a good as I have had elsewhere.
