“Beautiful scenery to wake up to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

The Best Western hotel is clean and comfortable and provides a free buffet breakfast which was ample. Just outside Lone Pines but only a 10 minute walk into the town and local restaurants. Outside swimming pool and breathtaking views of The Alabama Hills to wake up to. If you love western films this is the place to go was really interesting and they have a yearly film festival.

Loved this place! What a nice place to lay your head after a day at Death Valley National Park. The room was clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. Lone Pine is a location where a lot of westerns were filmed and therefore each room was named after one of those actors. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here prior to a hike up Mt Whitney - as many other people did. Staff was hekpful, friendly, breakfast was free and adequate, pool was good. Each room had its own assigned, numbered parking near their room.

We are on our Great American Road Trip over the next many weeks. Today was our day to cross Death Valley in the middle of a heat wave! Temperatures soared to 127 degrees Fahrenheit, and an air conditioned hotel was the need of the hour as we left Death Valley. We looked at every hotel along the way and this is by far the best. Friendly staff, Clean, well maintained, loads of amenities, free wifi, breakfast, pool, etc. at a good price. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a hotel near Death Valley.

We stayed in this hotel after travelling through the Death Valley to rest before heading to Yosemite. The area is very quite. The staff were very friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable. Kids enjoyed the pool which was very nice. Didn't get the chance to try the breakfast in the morning, but it looked tasty. Laundry and drier were very convenient. We enjoyed staying at this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

This is a review after coming back trip to this great establishment!
The hotel is wonderful-- clean and quiet, great location, and the staff make you feel like you are a guest at a 5-star institution! Margarita at the front desk is especially caring and helpful, yet all staff I encountered had obviously been trained well to be especially accommodating!
After visiting and/or driving through the area since I was a child, I recall how the hotel has been there for years, but now has several modern renovations, and comfy beds, lots of pillows, and décor reflecting a western flare to mirror the rich history around Lone Pine. The rooms are large and spotless! All have personal parking right next to your room and some have small patios with great views. The grounds are also impeccable and the pool is sparkling and refreshing… Ben keeps these surroundings immaculate and can fill you in on interesting things to see and do in the area!
If you are traveling with a dog, this hotel is pet-friendly and you and your furry friend can enjoy grassy areas on site and then huge open walking areas in back and around the shade trees on the side streets! We saw a small fox and several rabbits while on a morning stroll.
The free breakfast bar is convenient and has quite a few tables inside with additional seating and tables on the lawn in the front of the pool! Quite a bit more than a continental breakfast…including a Delicious and fun automated pancake makin-machine---haven’t seen one quite like this!
You will be in a very convenient setting; There’s a McDonalds close by for inexpensive ice cream…you could even take a walk to get one. This is a great stopping spot and good break after leaving or heading up to Yosemite or before your adventure up to Mount Whitney. Just a twenty minute drive up to the Mount Whitney Portal trailhead…even if you’re not into hiking this is well worth the trip just to see the waterfalls or to grab a burger at the Portal store.
Don’t let the price put you off… for the amenities and the position in the middle of 395 in Lone Pine it is quite reasonable! I highly recommend!
