“Lovely rest stop on busy road trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

I pulled into this motel after a long day on the road from Zion. The pool is what really called me and it was a wonderful and restful place to relax. The room had cosy touches like a wool wall hanging and nice art work that made it very homey. My only complaint I could apply to chain hotel/motels across North America and that is that the free breakfast is served with plastic everything! I will be addressing this concern to the executives when I get the chance (start a revolution anybody?) Ashley at the front desk was a dream to work with on check out and other matters and really capped off my stay. Would recommend easily.

First, you cannot beat this glorious view of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Mt. Whitney. The morning sun glimmering on the mountains was breathtaking. We did not have a reservation, but breezed in about 8pm. The staff was warm and friendly, the room was clean with cute cowboy decor. Each room has it's own parking space right in front of the door which was really convenient. We used the fitness room on the morning which was great! The rooms have all the necessities: cable, wifi, phone, even stationary and a little lap desk for use while you lounge in the comfy bed. Additionally, we were travelling with a small dog and the hotel is pet friendly.Take the time to go explore the little town; it is adorable and has lots of cute restaurants (even a saloon!). The breakfast was typical but not great. We were back on the road early though and appreciated the convenience of a warm breakfast on site.

The motel staff was friendly and the rooms were comfortable. Although there were a lot of pillows, our room seemed to be stocked with only overstuffed pillows. The motel is isolated at the end of town so be prepared for a long walk or short drive at supper time.

Room Tip: Choose a room close to the courtyard pool!

Convenient place to stay. We were headed to Death Valley, and this was a good base of operations for us. The breakfasts were FANTASTIC!!! Beds were comfortable, bathroom was very clean, great shower. The front desk employee recommended a restaurant that was well above average, so we enjoyed our evening meals, as well. Had a "We toss 'em, they're awesome" pizza the second night. Great way to round off the trip!

When we arrived, we were greeted at the front desk by Victoria. She made us feel genuinely welcome and asked us what we were going to be doing and gave us additional helpful suggestions for the area as well. On the third day of our stay, she knew that we were going to Death Valley and prepared an ice bag for us. She is what made this an overall 5 star experience. Our room was small but very comfortable and the large bathroom was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff was also very friendly. Additionally, there was a very nice sitting area with tables in the courtyard of the motel with a spectacular view of the Sierras and, in particular, Mt. Whitney. The supplied breakfast was very good each morning and the dining area had great views of the mountains as well. This location was convenient to our making the short drive to the Alabama Hills for several hikes as well as sightseeing in the Owens Valley. We are going to definitely come back and, perhaps, next time we will get one of the larger "star" rooms which Victoria took the time to show to us.

Walked into a spacious 2Queen bed room and marveled at it's cleanliness. Even the remote control is cleaned by the house staff. Great, comfortable mattresses but could improve on the pillows. The free breakfast is quite good and there are many, many choices. Hot and cold cereals, bagels and cream cheese, eggs, sausage, muffins and sweet rolls and muffins, etc. They even had a pancake maker but I found it lacking. Friendly staff, special kudos to Ashley and Krista. I wish I knew how to attach a photo because the view of Mt. Whitney from the breakfast area is outstanding. A definite thumbs up.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent and friendly front desk staff, housekeeping and maintenance. We had a problem with our in-room coffee maker and it was replaced in minutes. We were on our way to Death Valley and decided to stay a second night to give us the opportunity to kick around the Alabama Hills. The breakfast buffet was tasty and more than ample to fuel us for our hike and the remainder of our journey.
