I stayed here one night in late July and another night about 10 days later in early August of 2013. Check-in was prompt and courteous. I spoke with the proprietress about my upcoming stay 10 days later, and that I may be late coming off the trail after my trans-Sierra backpacking trip. She assured me that my room would be waiting and if I came in late all I had to do was ring the bell. Her kind manner and assurance did much to relieve any anxiety I had about the long last hiking day of my trek.
The room that night was good. No, it wasn't the Four Seasons, but it served me well by providing a comfortable bed, a good TV, and a hot shower. The shower head had the velocity I like, too.
About 10 days later after a long trans-Sierra hike and a summit of Whitney I was so looking forward to a comfortable room, a hot shower and a change of clothes. When I arrived at the motel the proprietor was at the front desk to greet me. He had my key ready in hand as I walked through the door.
Next time I am in Lone Pine for another backpacking trek I will definitely stay here again.
