“Tranquil Setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Sarah S above must have gotten her hotels mixed up - I'm here to set the record straight. This is the perfect property for a getaway with either your partner or a girlfriend. The rooms are gorgeous - everything is spotlesslly clean. This was our 5th visit and each time it has been perfect. The spa is awesome. With the recent addition of their fitness room and the pool outside it is the perfect venue for a few days of relaxation. If you love wine, then there are lots of places to visit. We don't, so if you like lots to do, you'll have to leave Lodi. The Towne House Restaurant is awesome, the bar is great. We wanted bar food after the kitchen had closed and the bar waitress went to the kitchen and put something together for us. We love Wine and Roses - the gardens were stil lovely, even though it is Thanksgiving. I give W&R 20 stars.

Room Tip: The older rooms tend to be on the dark side - the newer rooms at the far end of the parking lot are...

The area and the hotel are desolate; and it's now obvious why. The hotel staff know nothing of hospitality to the extent o being rude. The rooms are large which is a plus and it's also quiet. I use the fitness center and was disappointed that the only piece of exercise equipment is broken and the place is full of spiderwebs and dead bugs.

One would never expect to find a place like this in Lodi. The property is an "oasis" as contrasted by the surrounding area. The rooms, people, restaurant, and bar are great. Room are large with balconies and large bathrooms. The restaurant/bar features local jazz talent daily that attracts an older crowd. While the quality of the music may not perfect it's good enough and the peaceful atmosphere makes you feel like you're relaxing with friends. Service is "okay". Employees are very nice and polite but seem busy at times and are easily confused. Plan to dine at the restaurant/bar only if you have patience and plenty of time.

Wife said the quality of the spa was excellent and moderately priced.

One bonus is the Lodi Visitor's Wine Center where there's plenty of wine tasting available is co-located with this hotel.

Our room was clean, large and had an outdoor seating area with chairs and table. We were part of a group of friends and all had breakfast in the morning together. The grounds of the hotel are well manicured, no trash and the area was quiet.

We recently celebrated our daughters wedding at Wine and Roses. We had been working with the staff for about 6 months and when it all finally came together it was nothing short of amazing! Starting with the wedding and event planners all the way down to the front desk and spa staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The wedding was totally stress free the day of thanks to our awesome event planner Stacey. We have stayed at Wine and Roses in the past and all of their rooms are beautiful. Many of our wedding guests stayed for the night and also commented on the exceptional quality of the rooms and the beautiful surroundings and gardens. Who would guess you were in Lodi! The food is fabulous also. The wedding dinner was delicious and the next morning we entertained about 20 people for brunch. The food again was excellent. If I were to recommend a venue for a wedding this would certainly top my list and even if I were to suggest an overnight getaway I would highly recommend wine and roses. Everything was beyond wonderful and we thank each and every one of the staff that helped us in any way to make our weekend memorable.

Room Tip: The king rooms are very nice as are the vintners suites. I would suggest the main building as oppose...

We stayed in the spa room and was disappointed that there wasn't a table on the balcony, only a side table that wasn't enough for appetizers and drinks. I was also disappointed to see that instead of repainting the room, they touched up the room and you could see the paint touch ups. I think that's a little tacky for an upscale property. For the price of the rooms, I expect more that that.

Went for one night for my Birthday. We needed a place to stay near Stockton because we were seeing a show at the Stockton Arena. They put us in a room across the parking lot from the main part of the hotel. The room was painted a very very dark brown. It made the whole room feel cold and sterile. Everything was new and clean but other than the paint very typical and standard. The bathroom had a nice large bath tub but the shower was terrible. The shower head was huge and the water pressure was weak. The water just came down like a light rain. I could hold my hand under the head vertically and not get it wet. the pool is cold. The spa is too hot and I mean way too hot. I've stayed in a lot of places from the cheapest to very expensive and this place is just an ok Napa wannabe that is overpriced. Yes the grounds are nice and the spa is beautiful but again way overpriced. The bar smelled like a cat had urinated somewhere. But the drinks were very good. Natural herbs and fruit. Heirloom tomato soup with goat cheese was too acidic and cool. wild and tame mushroom risotto was terrible. I would stay somewhere else next time and save the money for Napa or S.F. P.S. The bed was great slept well.

Room Tip: Avoid the three little buildings across the parking lot if your there for the grounds and quaintness...
