“More than what it looks like”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I have stayed here several times, and I will keep going back while on business in the area. I have stayed at one of the newer hotels in Turlock, but the walls were paper thin and there were a lot of people around. This one is an old motel, does not look like much from the outside, but being older - "they don't don't make them like they used to." The walls, even internal, are concrete blocks, so you can't hear your neighbors at all. You do hear some trucks passing in the night, not the traffic noise, but there is a pot hole or bump on the street out front that makes the empty trucks bounce when they go over it. The inside of the rooms have old furniture, but it is very clean. The bathrooms have been remodeled with granite sink, walls, and shower and are quite nice. In all my times staying there, I have not seen any riff-raff, as you would see with the lower priced motels in Turlock. It is a very visible location but no pedestrian traffic, so that helps keep it isolated and safe. I heard the place was a drug place long ago, but I have not seen any of that. In fact, it is owned by a young family with two children and I don't think the parents would want any of that exposed to their children. This is a no-frills place, don't expect all the standard hotel luxuries (bring your own shampoo), it is quite basic, but it is clean, safe, quiet, and very affordable. There are some good restaurants in the area, including a fantastic Mexican restaurant right next door though its hours are limited, and there is a good Foster Farms Cafe across the street that is good, with fresh chicken. Speaking of chicken, a large Foster Farms plant is nearby, so it gets some odor outside, but it doesn't get in the room.

It was very clean , had a microwave, fridge, Plenty of towels, and very quite. My Driver was very Happy. And the A/C worked Perfect since it was so hot . Thank you Lisa for taking care of my Driver Mr.David

I stayed in this motel on a working trip to Merced and found the location to be excellent and the motel to be good value for money. The Owners very friendly and helpful in all matters. the room clean and comfortable. Not far from the motel is a truck stop area with multiple take out resturants and just over the road a sit down Chicken Resturant making it easy for the traveller.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay again myself in passing this way again.
