“Lovely Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

My husband & I had a lovely stay in the Captain's Watch for our 27th anniversary. There is a beautiful view of the ocean by day and the star filled sky by night. Granted, our weather was amazing but we were prepared for foggy nights & mornings which adds a beauty of its own. The room was very clean & quaint. The hot tub up the hill was very relaxing at the end of our evenings. Watching the shooting stars was a highlight. The vouchers for breakfast are an extra special touch. A satisfying breakfast in a lovely atmosphere. The first morning we sat with an ocean view. The second morning we sat and watched the chipmunks, quail, dove, blue jay & rabbit eat their breakfast among the tree stumps. The only thing missing was Snow White! She must have had a rough night & slept in! The beach we walked to was breathtaking. Ask about it at the front desk. Everyone was kind & helpful. We will be back, hopefully very soon.

My husband and I just spent another couple of days at the Inn. Being retired has given us the opportunity to get away more often and the number one getaway is the Inn. We stayed in the Rose cottae this time and what a view we had from our porch ! Waking up to that each morning started our day off and then to Circa 62 for the most fabulous breakfast. Homemade sausage, waffle hash browns, the best bacon we have ever eaten and the staff treated us like we were special people!! Sandy and Kevin, the owners, are the best ! This is our own special place to go and we love it. We are already planning our next trip, our goal is to stay in all of the cottages.

This is by far the coolest bnb on the north coast. we checked in last minute, with a large party along with a pet, and the staff was more than happy to accommodate everything we needed to the point of closing the office late and making sure everyone had extra blankets, even the pooch. the grounds are beautiful with magical views of surrounding forest as well as the majestic pacific. jacuzzi and sauna are open twenty four hours, wonderful for those seeking a little privacy. my only complaint is that there are not enough hours in the day, fore they offer full spa treatment including massages. yes, i tear just left my eye as well. my hats off to everyone at the Inn at SchoolhouseCreek. i look forward to returning soon for a much longer and more relaxing visit. if you want to get away and forget about where you've been or what you're going to do, just stay here for a day or seven and you'll experience true serenity. the Inn is worth five points, but five points isn't worth the Inn. six points!!!! we love this bnb, and we've been from London to Los Angeles. enjoy......

Room Tip: water tower tamsey thyne you can't go wrong.

We spent a couple of days at the Ledford Cottage for a relaxing getaway. Totally spacious two bedroom rustic cottage.
Surrounded by nature with the comforts of home.
Huge private yard for our dog to play. Our dog loved it here as well. We walked to Buckhorn Cove where he swam for hours.

Staff was very friendly and breakfast was great.

We stayed in the Water Tower room. I've stayed at the Inn once before and I'm impressed with the remodel of the rooms they've done. A lot more modern instead of out-of-date. The room was gorgeous and we loved the fireplace. We opted for the add-on of wine and cheese and the Inn provided an amazing bottle of champagne and delicious cheese and chocolates from local vendors. Breakfast at the Inn is unbeatable. Housemade sausage, delicious french toast are among the large array of options. Their coffee is locally roasted and even my boyfriend, who hates coffee, drank 2 cups. The views are worth the price alone. We also got massages at the yurt, and my massage was probably the best I've ever had. I love that we can bring our dog with us and he has a spot to run around and be "parked" while we enjoy breakfast. The service is top notch, each staff member we met was incredibly helpful and nice, especially the dining room staff. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary and as our first vacation with our dog. We like nature, but aren't really the camping types, so Schoolhouse Creek's cabins were perfect for us. It was cozy, yet spacious, and minimalist, yet had more than what we needed (e.g. whirlpool tub and large flat screen tv -- both of which we used happily). Everything was very clean, up-to-date, and in good working order. We appreciated the simple-chic style -- a refreshing change from those ghastly Victorian floral lacy prints that every other inn seems to be decorated in. The staff was super courteous and made sure we had everything we needed, the Inn is set on stunning property with great views -- even our dog was welcomed and made to feel at home. We'd go back in a heart beat!

This is our new favorite place to stay in Mendocino. Charming cottages with all amenities including dog friendly treats and water bowl. Our Thistle Cottage had sparkling views of the ocean from the deck and front room. With the property's hot tub and sauna, meadow for dog walks, and close to the town of Mendocino -- it has it all. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend and will stay here again.

Room Tip: We had Thistle Cottage that was perfect for my husband and me and our niece who slept on the sofa/tr...
