This was our third vist to the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek. We keep returning because we really want to relax on our vacations. The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek has a variety of rooms to choose from to fit any need. The front desk personnel, especially Rowyn, is excellent. From the time we make the reservation until the time we leave she is very professional and goes out of her way to make our stay wonderful. This visit she sugessted some hikes for us and our dog and we had a fantastic day. It was magical. We had a wonderful massage and a truly relaxing experience. We're already planning our next visit.

We spent part of our honeymoon in Mendocino, and we were very fortunate to have stumbled upon this little group of quaint cottages right on the coast. We stayed in the Garden cottage, and could not have been happier. It was very private, clean and well cared for. The large tub was amazing, bed comfy and the propane stove made it nice and cozy. Watch out, they hide the refrigerator! It took some looking to find it hidden in the cabinet. The staff was helpful in guiding us to interesting sites to see without being too touristy. Every morning they serve breakfast, and everything was delicious. The menu included complimentary items as well as a small menu with hot items for purchase. Although we were honeymooners and chose a secluded and smaller cottage, there seemed something to fit everyone's needs including handicapped, small families and multiple families. We highly recommend this Inn if you are planning a trip to northern Cali. While you are here we also suggest you check out the botanical gardens, glass beach, and ask about the short cut to the water fall, well worth the short hike!

We spent two nights in the Water Tower room. A very comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and a little closet with a microwave and coffee pot. The water tower room, as expected, had a water tower with a nice little deck for watching sunsets - however the fog never lifted the entire time we were there, so no sunset to watch. There is a large hot tub, enclosed in the lower level of the water tower, but the water level was very low and the room was very closed in and a little claustrophobic, so we only used it once. The morning breakfast buffet of muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and hard boiled eggs was very good and well stocked. There is an additional cost for a hot breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc, which was also very good. The bacon and sausage are locally made and well worth the price of the breakfast! But the best part of the breakfast, is not the food - delicious as it is - it's the wonderful view of the local wildlife out the window! Rabbits, California Quail, Stellar and Scrub Jays, Anna's Hummingbirds, Redwing Blackbirds, House finches, chipmunks, and more! A delightful way to start your day in Mendocino County. Be sure to get a window seat!

Room Tip: The water tower room is nice, but the tower is only worth the extra outlay if you are sure of clear...

The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek was a cheerful and charming place to stay. The friendly staff made our stay worthwhile. We enjoyed massages at the Day Spa, a good breakfast in the dining room, and a lovely time being at the country inn. The best parks and beaches are close by; dining and shopping are located in Mendocino. It was a fun place to be.

Room Tip: The garden room had a great view and was peaceful.

My husband and I drove up Hwy. 1 to Mendocino and stayed here. Great location just far enough from the town of Mendocino and close to other little towns and the Anderson Valley vineyards. We stayed in the Thyme. Great king bed and whirlpool tub. Room was private, quiet and a good value with a continental breakfast included. Views were amazing. Wished we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: Loved the Thyme cottage. It took me so long to decide on a cottage, but after seeing them all, they...

We spent 3 nights in Ledford cottage, it was awesome! This place advertises 'pet friendly' that is true i guess, but they are truly people friendly. The staff made my kids feel like thier own. The breakfast chef (Cevin, i think) added special touches, and the bacon, OMG! Off the hook! We will be back.
