This hotel is all about Scott and Marie and the realisation of their dream to make breakfasts. As guests we felt incidental to this, and everything else about the hotel suffers as a result. The 'hosts' only appear to be there for the breakfasts. We were not checked in by them and did not meet them until the 'main event'. Which by the way was over-priced and disappointing. It may claim to be the best breakfast for 30 miles but there is precious little competition. In addition it is from 8.30 -9.30 so if you want an early start as we did one day (the main part of the park is over an hour away) I suggest you try 'Buckaroo's', a little place down the road that makes the best freshly cooked cinnamon rolls ever. The pool and hot tub are lovely, but the rooms are in dire need of redecoration. Our room sloped so much it was almost impossible to stay in the bed. The air conditioning is ancient, very loud and intermittent. We had to turn it off and open a window. The main point of a hotel is to give a good night's sleep and this failed totally. The hotel is let down by small things like cheap shampoo sachets, shared hairdryers. Also if you are expecting a private bathroom as the website claims be prepared for the fact that several rooms have the bath/toilet at the side of the bedroom, not in a separate room - awkward if sharing with a friend.

We have just returned from 3 wonderful nights at Plantation B and B during a 10 day trip driving (1400 Miles) in the beautiful Sierras of CA! We stayed here exactly 3 years ago and everything was as expected if not even BETTER than last time! Scott, Marie and their staff are very friendly and make sure that you are comfortable and have all you need. Rooms, showers, etc. are all very clean. The breakfasts are so yummy that I came home to the Plantation Cookbook that I bought 3 years ago to put to use again . Having once again tasted Chef Marie's wonderful cooking, I am anxious to do some more recipes. (The photos in the book are wonderful memories for a great souvineer too!) Since the temps were around 100 degrees while we were here, we enjoyed the pool in the afternoons for relaxing after driving all day in the parks.

The Plantation now leaves us with many MORE FOND memories of our home away from home! If anyone will be visiting the area, please email THE PLANTATION and make reservations, you cannot go wrong!! Thanks Again Scott and Marie...You are great hosts!

P.S. We ate at The Orange Blossom Junction just south of this B and B and it was fantastic food and service. Don't miss it either!

the Plantation is the place to be.

great hosts on Scott and Marie, wonderful setting, and great place to go explore Sequoia national Park.

yes the accomodation may be " quaint" , but hey, this is doen with style..

Scott's qualities as host and Marie's cooking ability, compliment each other excellently.

Make Plantation the place to visit and enjoy your stay.

well worth the money and good facilities

Whilst I wish Scott & Marie, (the owners) well I really do feel that they could spruce the place up! The decor is very tired, the lounge OMG, who really wants a "Gone With The Wind" theme in 2008? maybe 1978! We didn't like the breakfasts, not much choice and if you didn't like the cooked dishes (which were more or less the same thing each morning) then there wasn't enough to fill you up. As Scott and Marie are nice it's hard to say this, I almost feel guilty in doing so. Our Check in experience, (Scott and Marie wern't there) wasn't that great . The rooms needs redecorating NOW, they can't be busy all year round so there is no excuse to leave them as they are. We have a T.V program over here called "The Hotel Inspector" and God knows what she would make of it! It's also expensive for what you get, (maybe it's due to the location) we paid half their rate near to Yosemite and it was 100% better (but no pool).

this place is small and quaint, with different themes for each room. we stayed in scarlet o'hara and it was wonderful - the room has a fireplace, jacuzzi in the bathroom, and french doors open to the cute veranda, which we enjoyed while sipping our wine. you might be visited by a black and white kitty who climbed up the tree and joined us here (on veranda).
there is a nice size pool and better yet - fantastic jacuzzy that we enjoyed under the stars.
marie and scott were fantastic hosts, and her breakfasts were delicious. they were vegeterian, but so fulll of flavor, you'd never know it.
lemon cove is just minutes from three rivers, and altogether just about half hour (maybe even less) from the sequoia park itself.
we had a great time and hope you do too.
