The Tejon Ranch travel center and its many restaurants and gas stations are imperative and strategic stops for anyone taking Interstate 5 or State Route 99 whether heading south over the Grapevine grade towards Southern California or heading towards destinations north. Your one exit here will have all you need. Of all the food choices at Tejon, I recommend In-N-Out because of its easy access, fast service, delicious burgers and fries and overall iconic popularity with young and old alike.
In-N-Out's area is the ideal place to gas up your vehicle nearby and load up on munchies for a reasonable price. The best deal is the Double-double burger, drink and fries to go. Everything is fresh and made to order. However, they don't open for breakfast and the lines to order food are often long. But there are not all that many alternatives either heading into L.A. or north to San Fran or Fresno. Careful: getting into the Tejon Ranch off I-5 may be tricky for first timers. Watch out for very short ramps, sharp turns, scads of big rigs and plenty of traffic. Its on the west side of 5, exit at Laval Rd.
But after you are done at Tejon Ranch, you'll realize it was a correct strategic stop considering the long miles ahead, either way you are going. I highly recommend stopping here for gas, make a potty stop, stretch, visit a convenience store, and stock up on tasty In-N-Out products.
