After easily purchasing our tickets from one of the convenient machines, we took the 9 am ride over to San Francisco from Larkspur. The ferry was full of commuters but we were among the first in line so we had a window and middle seat on the right side of the upper deck. It was a foggy morning but the ride was smooth and the view wasn't bad. The salt spray causes the windows to be dirty so you can't plan on taking pictures from inside. The 30 minute trip was uneventful and the boat quickly unloaded at the terminal. We caught a trolley right in front and went up to Fisherman's Wharf. After spending the day we walked back to the terminal and at 4:30 we were the first in line for the 5:00 return trip. This appears to be a well run, efficient, operation and tourists like us can easily figure it out.
