“Fun and exciting”

Cool industrial decor. Good food, sort of higher prices, but some would say it is worth it. I go there occasionally and it is really pretty great each time.

“One of my favorites!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Bex is a lot of fun. Whether it be girls night, date night, or a group event. Bex has a great atmosphere and excellent service. The food is fantastic and drinks are delicious and unique. Roshambo is the bar connected to Bex and there is always good music, good drinks and fun people. It's a good time, go!

“Novelty Value, Good Food, What Else D'Ya Want at a Sport Bar?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I went to Bex Bar & Grill with my family the other night - it was a weekday. I had been there several times before and everything has always been about what I expected. It's a steak and burger, sport-bar joint; one of those places with a dinner-plate-sized 2 lb. burger with an inventive name: this one is "the motherlode." The decor is chic industrial with iron lighting fixtures, exposed wood rafters high above, and metal art on the walls. Here and there are the obligatory tropical fish tanks. The TV's play several sports games and the scene includes a 20'x20' projection system that takes up an entire wall, showing anything from football to music videos. With stuff to watch, touch-screen Coke dispensers where you can pick any one of dozens of different-flavored soft drinks, and busy finger-food-appetizers like a mountainous plate of garlic-fries (which are good) and six different dipping sauces, the service ange is that you come to socialize, not to be pampered. It's not a French restaurant where a staff of waiters is watching to see when to bring you your finger-bowl.
The Bar menu is pretty interesting. It's hard to do it justice here. Just look on their website - martinis like Jalapeno Cucumber, Cucumber Pear, and Balsalmic Strawberry are the kind of off-beat fare that is a good balance to the 30 taps including at least 7 in-house brews.
I got a Veggie Burger which was very good and the rest of the family had salad and pasta. The flavors were well balanced and fresh, which, along with the ambiance and inventive bar, is going to cost more than TGI Fridays, but not much more.
Below the restaurant, there is "The Underground" complete with the London subway iconic signage. The Underground is a bowling alley/shuffle board/billiards (and bar) with big signs indicating they expect an upscale crowd with an upscale dress-code. You can order Bex appetizers from the bar. My work has socials there and it's really an ideal place for them.

“Adequate At Best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

I've eaten here three times (to be fair, in groups of 6-8), and their table service leaves a lot to be desired.

The person who takes your order isn't necessarily the one who delivers it. So if you ask for dressing on the side when you order a salad from Waitress A, when Waitress B delievers your salad, it could come with dressing on it. (What motivation does Waitress A have to make sure your food is prepared the way you want it when Waitress B might be collecting the tip? Answer: none.) If you ask for extra dressing, butter, etc., when the meal is delivered, you might as well start eating now, because you'll probably never get what you request.

Entrees are delivered in no particular order as they are prepared, leaving some members of your group eating and others without any food in front of them (sometimes for ten or fifteen minutes). And be sure to order water in addition to your beverage, because you may not get a beverage refill promptly--if ever.

That said, the items worth eating are the BBQ chicken pizza and the tri-tip sandwiches. But there are other restaurants in Lancaster/Palmdale that comprehend the meaning of service, and I'd rather give THEM my business.
