“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We stayed here for a week in summer and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.The rooms are fine and well maintained and the staff are very pleasant.Breakfast is included and is perfect for the traveller.The pool is well looked after and quiet and the laundry facilities are inexpensive and excellent.There is in open air area where you can eat al fresco without disturbing guests.
Superbly situated near shops restaurants and the nearest beach.....Salt Creek Beach which is out of this world.We will certainly visit again.Only one negative a nearby fire station which can disturb light sleepers.

Room Tip: Avoid block C which is near fire station

This was our second time staying there when visiting the folks in the area. We love it. For the price, it cannot be beat. Hot tub, pool, exercise room, laundry room are all included. The breakfast is fine (although bacon would make it better!). Eggs, breads, great cereal, wonderful eating place, kind staff. They greet you upon check-in with locally made soft cookies! The rooms are clean and more than adequate.Nevine is outstanding but all the folks are fine. It was a comfortable place in which to spend 4 nights. Quiet location. Near restaurants and other stores. Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The ones by the garden cost more but have the garden view.

Decent rooms, nice gardens, good breakfast. Rooms are clean, if a little outdated, and come equipped with microwave, fridge and a very small bathroom. Extremely surprised that tripadvisors haven't made more mention of the next door fire station. We stayed here with our two young children who are light sleepers, and this proved to be a real pain. Loud blaring sirens intermittently until very late at night and quite early in the morning. Having stayed in many similarly priced hotels across SoCal, am surprised this ones rated 'so' highly on this site. Fair price for a nice location but nothing out of the ordinary .....

Room Tip: Ask to be in the farthest block from the fire engine!

This was my third visit to the Laguna Hills Lodge and once again I found the Garden Room very comfortable and the service extremely good. All the staff were very friendly and and the rates were extremely competitive. Thanks to Nevine and the rest of the team, see you again soon.

Room Tip: Go for a garden room on the groung floor of block A or B.

Very nice landscaping around the main courtyard. Centrally located. Not too far from the coast, about 10 - 15 mins from Laguna Beach. Traffic isn't bad. Easy access to the I5 and other major freeways. Breakfast buffett not too bad. Only negatives was that the bathrooms are very tiny.

First the negatives: the decor is a wee bit dated. But the quality of the furnishings was still very good. The width of the bathroom door was another clue that this property has been around for awhile. I couldn't enter it straight on with my walker. I had to side-step in. It wasn't a problem for me, but if you need accessible baths, check with the staff beforehand to see if they're available;

Sorry, another negative: we didn't want to leave! This was a pass-through stop on a trip down the coast, as we had chosen to largely bypass the LA area. If only we could have taken this place with us to San Diego...

It's quiet, clean, very well maintained, with a fridge, microwave and even a personal safe to lock up valuables. The mattresses were comfortable. The flowering gardens looked and smelled wonderful. It's evident the owners and management take a great deal of pride in the place. I would definitely come back if I ever revisit Orange County.

This is a nice hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. I was staying with my elderly parents and mobility is an issue for them. We were able to get rooms that did not require a lot of walking through lobbies and hallways. However, LHL does not offer "accessible baths" that I could tell. The rooms are clean and modern and average in size. We enjoy a comfortable and affordable stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in two different rooms. I think its quieter in NON-courtyard rooms. There is no elevator...
