My wife ( who is handicapped/disabled) and I stayed for 16 nights including the Christmas period. As the average stay by Americans is under a week this was a long stay by comparison. The Hotel was excellent as were the staff. This is a UK standard 4 star hotel but without a restaurant or bar. This was not a problem however as there are numerous bars and restaurants a short walk away. Our package included a continental breakfast and as we were staying for 16 breakfasts we asked that the "menu" was mixed up a little to give us more variety. This was not a problem to the Hotel who did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible.Breakfast was served to the room and always on time, coffee was available from reception from early morning. We stayed in room 420 which was adapted with a walk in shower etc. The room was excellent and the bed extremely comfortable. The only thing stopping us from giving an excellent rating is the parking charges. We knew before we travelled that this is normal at this type of hotel but as my wife was handicapped/disabled we had hoped that the charges may have been reduced a little. It was 29 dollars ( £18 a day) to park in a half empty car park per day. We can understand these charges in high season when parking is at a premium but were a little disapointed to have to pay this amount at this time of year. Our Travel agent did contact the Hotel in advance to see if there was any leeway but had no success.
Other than the Parking this was a great hotel with great people working in it. We would certainly visit again - and put up with the parking charges!
The American hospitality and customer service was memorable.
