Older, charming, boutique hotel. Staff very friendly and informative about Laguna Beach area.
My husband and I stayed here 2 nights as a romantic getaway. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. Found the hotel convenient and steps from the beautiful, almost private beach area. We loved to walk to area restaurants and shopping. The hotel is quite old, but rooms (suite) modern, smaller, but clean and relaxed. We stayed in the special designed surf suite, which was decorated in all white, great use of space. A note to consider, trucks behind the hotel begin around 7 am, which is noisy, but if you are early riser, no worries and great ocean view! Would need additional rooms for kids, but perfect for us. We walked a few blocks to the gym which is provided free of charge through hotel and reserved a table on "rooftop lounge" for sunset cocktails. It was a bit crowded, but great to be there. We would definitely recommend this for a couples get away as long as you don't expect super fancy, but clean, comfortable and friendly for sure.
