Owner description: Located on the Festival of Arts grounds is one of the most unique theatrical productions in the world, the Pageant of the Masters. Watch real people be magically transformed into life-sized re-creations of famous works of art. A live narrator guides you through the story of each living picture accompanied by a full orchestra. “Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

If you're in Orange County during the Pageant of the Masters, DO NOT miss this! It is a recreation of art--paintings and statues using live models. Although this sounds a bit hokey, the description doesn't do it the lip service it deserves. We took some out of town guests and at the end of it they said, basically, "Wow, I had no idea how cool that was going to be." Get there early so you can enjoy the art and artists before the show.

“A once in a lifetime...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

A once in a lifetime experience...that's what every review I had read said and they were all correct. If you are near Laguna Beach in the summer, please make an effort to go to the Pageant of the Masters. The artistry is like none other and again, all of the reviews on Trip Advisor were "spot on" from the parking, to the cushion and binocular rental, to arriving early. While the script for this year's show was all over the place, we were patient and happy to keep up with it.

“Consistent experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

Like returning to Capistrano every year, this is a summer pilgrimage our family undertakes annually. This years ART DETECTIVE show was solid as always. Bring someone who has never attended and like Disneyland, enjoy the reaction of a first-timer.

“First rain-out of the Pageant.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

Wonderful $90 seats but it started to sprinkle during the first half of the Pageant. The volunteer "artists" were flawless in their interpretation of the paintings and the sound system was wonderful in explaining the uniqueness of each painting. When it was time for intermission and it was raining a bit heavier, only about 5% of the audience didn't return! everyone really engrossed in the paintings but then the speakers started going out from the rain. An announcement said they were closing the Pageant "for your safety" but most everyone wanted to stay. What a shame, my first time going there! One man said he's gone for 30 years straight, never rains in California in August. Right as rain. Too bad the Pageant wouldn't compensate for next year, only offered same week tickets or following week. When you factor in hotel cost, parking $15, program $10, too bad they couldn't have given tickets for next year. First and last time for me but normally it would have been a fun filled interesting pageant.
