“Escaping LA for Laguna.”

PacEdge is a very nice hotel, I've stayed here a few times. A good value-for-price hotel, especially if you get the upper ocean view with a balcony. I'd recommend it to all families, couples, and large groups. The hotel staff is friendly and prompt, discreet which is nice in a multi-building hotel. Being a part of JDV is a tremendous perk too, and it gives a beautiful beach city to their collection.

Room Tip: The best rooms I believe are the Ocean-View rooms, with a balcony looking out at the ocean. It's...

My husband and I picked this hotel for our 14th anniversary. Right when we walked in the room and looked out the balcony, it was BREATHTAKING! It was so beautiful words can't explain. We sat on the balcony for hours enjoying the view and the weather. We slept with the balcony door open to enjoy the waves at night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a romantic getaway!

Jessica,

I'm thrilled that we could be a part of such a wonderful occasion! Laguna Beach is a breathtaking backdrop for any celebration. I'm so glad to hear that you were able to sleep with your door open and let the waves lull you to sleep. There's really nothing more relaxing than that. Thanks for the review. We hope to see you again soon.

We are staying at Pacific Edge for two nights. I wish it were longer! We originally booked a non-ocean view room, but since the hotel is not full, they upgraded us very cheaply to a super ocean view room! I think it's easier to upgrade if you book directly on the hotel's website. We are lucky to have some great weather as well as the upgrade. We are on the bottom floor, and the ocean is so close it feels like we are on a boat. I could not have expected more for our 2-day holiday! We also brought our dog and I appreciate how accommodating they are towards families with dogs. Little things I like: great single cup coffee brewer with tasty coffee (though we used our own milk), cute decorations, nice beds and bedding. I little annoying (but not enough to take a star away): pillows are too big and fluffy for me, and the valet parking is a hassle. Great customer service overall!

Room Tip: Go for ocean front if you can afford it! Or wish for an upgrade!

My wife and I had our anniversary at The Deck, and the experience wsa outstanding. We are familar with this property, and have followed it as it's transitioned from a nice but dated family hotel to a hip, fun, perfecty located, well run and upscale property. When they opened The Deck restaurant at the water's edge, we were among the first customers. The food is great and the location is probaby the best in Orange County, right on the water, with a big outdoor patio, a great bar, several large cabanas with private sun decks and beach access, and live music on Sundays. Just a well executed property that's already become one of the hippest spots in town, perhaps supplanting The Rooftop at Casa Del Camino in this category. When we were at The Deck for our anniversary we rented a cabana and everything went smoothly, from check in to check out at the end. The cabanas are awesome (huge new LED LCD TV's, perfect for watching sports), with a nicely appointed bathroom, plenty of seating space inside, and a very large deck outside with plenty of deck furniture. Great for chilling in the sun or watching sports. The cabanas are also immediately adjacent to the bar, which is busy (with great looking people) from when then open to when they close, and makes the cabanas seem less remote and more like you're still in the action, with a palce to retreat to if you need it. The cabanas also have beach access, which is perfect, and the beach there is awesome. The food and drinks are creative and well prepared, and the staff is outstanding (especially our server Carrie/Cari/Kerri/Keri, not sure how to spell it, but she's waited on us numerous times and and always awesome). Highly recommend!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your meal at the Deck. The Deck is actually a separate entity from Pacific Edge on Laguna Beach and I'm sure they would appreciate your comments. If you are ever looking for a hotel to stay in, we'd love to have you.

This was our first trip to the Pacific Edge hotel , we stayed in the penthouse suite overlooking Sleepy Hollow Road and the sea beyond. We were surprised to find that we had a lounge and kitchen/ dining area. The furniture in the apartment was a bit tired and dated , but it did look as if it had recently been decorated and the bed was very comfortable with spotless bed linen. We saw dolphins swimming in the sea from our balcony which was an amazing sight to behold.
The beach was a very short walk away and sunbeds/umbrellas and towels were all provided free of charge.
We had breakfast at the Beach House Restaurant nearby which has lovely unspoilt views across the sea.We had one evening meal there also which was delicious , but the lighting was so poor we had trouble reading the menu and the service was very slow.
We only used one of the pools at the front of the hotel which was quite cold in temperature but clean , there weren't any towels that we could see to use and the road noise was loud.
The valet parking is compulsery and a bit of a pain as you have to keep returning to the valet area to get your keys back if you have kept things in your car that you need.
We probably would use this hotel again but only for a couple of nights, I think it would be the perfect place for the younger surfing generation who don't mind looking past the dated aspects of the accommodation.

Room Tip: choose a room facing the sea front not the road.

Thank you for taking the time to review us! I'm glad you enjoyed staying with us in one of our ocean view rooms. We appreciate your comments as they allow us to assess and improve our service. In regards to the pool towels, we are happy to provide towels for you if you speak to the front desk. We are also required to have a valet due to the presence of the restaurant The Deck on the property though we apologize if that policy was not explained more clearly to you. I hope you'll come back and stay with us again; we'd love to have you!

Stay was OK but the room was very small and the bathroom had no room to put toiletries out. There were 5 or 6 old buildings spread across the property, although it looks like they are trying to update. It is quite a trek around stairs, hallways and other buildings to get down to the oceanfront beach. Pictures on website are a little deceiving because all of property is old and rooms are quite dated. Valet parking is required at $20/night. Hotel rates are a little high for the condition of the property. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was very courteous and friendly.

I'm sorry that you weren't more impressed when you recently stayed with us. We have many unique room types and are constantly working to improve the quality of our guests' stay; we would have been happy to move you into a room that might have been more to your taste. We are also required to have valet parking due to the presence of the restaurants on the premises, though I apologize if our staff did not explain this more clearly to you. I do hope you'll afford us another opportunity to impress you in the future; I know we can show you a great stay.
