“one night beach stay with friend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We stayed here for one night before a conference. The hotel is right on the beach and close to restaurants, shopping, etc. They layout of the hotel is unique. Be prepared for stairs! The staff was always nice and helpful. If you are picky about your hotel rooms I wouldn't recommend this place. However, if you're simply looking for a place to store your things while you hang out beachside and sleep, it's perfect. Breakfast is included but there wasn't any fresh fruit. They had a waffle iron for hot waffles, baked goods, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Also they had coffee, juice and milk.

Located on the most beautiful beach in the USA, The Capri was our only choice for our wedding party hotel. I've been coming to Laguna since I was a teenager and the Capri has always been my favorite. I love the place and their staff. Walk in the lobby an you feel you've arrived at your beach home. Everyone is welcoming, warm, sincere, and friendly. The pool's always heated and sparkling. Grounds are currently being remodeled to make the place even better. We had over 15 rooms and they made everything simple and perfect for our guests. I'll always stay here when I visit the most beautiful place on earth -- Laguna Beach.

Room Tip: You'll want room 102 or 103. And definitely jump in the awesome surf when you're there.

Rooms could use a major update the bed was terrible, smelled very musty maybe they shouldn't have carpet in the rooms! The breakfast area needs to be larger, gets very crowded and there isnt very many places to sit. Being right on the beach with an excellent beach boy was great.

Room Tip: If your gonna stay here ask for a ocean front room.

This place was a HUGE disappointment. Room smelled like raw sewage. AC was a roll in unit and they punched a hole in the wall for the air tube. NO water pressure. Front door didnt close properly. Parking is terrible. I could go on and on and on....

The family and I planned for a "Stay-cation" weekend at the Capri and we all had a wonderful time. The Capri is an older hotel, but the amenities were just fine for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the pool, the beautiful ocean view room, and I loved the Starbucks coffee at the continental breakfast which was perfect for all of us.
The location of the Capri is perfect, right on the beach, as it was nice to hear the waves at night as we fell asleep. The beach attendant was very helpful setting up chairs and supplying the kids with sand toys for playing in the sand.
If you are looking for a good value and can appreciate the fact that the Capri has been around awhile, not a "luxury" resort, you will have a great time as we did.

Room Tip: The view from the Ocean view rooms is fantastic. It was very enjoyable to sit out on the balcony and...

We booked the Capri as it looked good on the web page, but it turned out to be old, moldy and smelly. We booked two beds and were given one queen bed. The door to the room had a bee hive being built.

If you are a college student and you want to have a ton of kids in one room, and you aren't very particular about carpeting or facilities, this could be a hotel for you. But for a single room at almost $400 dollars per night, it isn't my kind of hotel. We didn't check in, we cancelled when we saw the room and went home.

Great view from the top deck and right on the beach, 10,000 steep steps later. Went for a family wedding, in which we had the whole top floor for family and wedding party and had the night manager threating us to call the police and did, we were the only ones on the top floor and when some people from the wedding from that day went down to the deck beach to hang out and keep any noise down on the beach the night mgr was sneaking around in the bush's to watch and when seen ran telling us he was calling the police, even threatened a group of four ladies sitting on the top deck just chatting that he was calling the police on them because they were there? the hotel is old from the 50's, no parking and if you own anything bigger than a VW can't drive around the lot to get in or out. The only bright spot was Max the daytime desk mgr, he was more than helpful with all the people we had and pleasant. For almost $400 a night your better off paying the parking meter and staying in your car.
