This was a very different but quirky hotel. The hotel rooms were large in size albeit old fashioned. However Gail and the staff were so helpful and Gail did tell us some nice places to visit. Laguna beach is a fantastic place and we would definately return not only to the resort but to the Art Hotel. Lovely few days.

A great place to stay just outside of Laguna. A slightly alternative feel and friendly people. Definately recommended for a different type of stay. Crescent beach just across the road with free on site parking at the hotel too. Could not ask for more.

Don't get me wrong, do not expect a contemporary hotel as it is not at all!
Rooms are big but very out of date and not very clean I am afraid... HOWEVER, the rest was amazing! Location is perfect because you can walk to an amazing beach, in my opinion the best beach I've visited in the west coast! North Laguna is much quieter and peaceful than centre or south, you get this free cute shuttle to the centre so you don't need to use the car at all!

I would def recommend this hotel to everyone, even though the rooms are not great but location and the beach are just incredible!

A mile north of central Laguna Beach though this didn't matter as there were free trolleys running into town regular. The room we had was a good size and the beds were reasonably comfy with a plethora of pillows. We stayed upstairs and there was a lift that worked until reception closed; otherwise you have to walk a flight of stairs. There was a decent guest laundry, and the swimming pool was fine - from 3 and a half feet deep to four feet may not suit everybody. There was also a hot tub. The swimming pool area had no loungers just sofas and chairs but was nice for eating breakfast outside as our room had no verandah or outside seats.
Our room seemed to have had better days. The TV was, to be frank, rubbish but who really cares, as it was summer. The shower was weak and varied in temperature. The AC wasn't very strong. Unfortunately our window didn't work properly, and in order to get air we had to leave it open all the time we stayed (4 nights). We did report the problem but nothing was done while we there. The staff were friendly and helpful but in avery laid back and vague way. The Art aspect was very kitsch - that is a friendly way to describe it. Overall I get the feeling that the hotel is in decline mode - nothing is really being kept up to par; it might once have been good but it needs refurbishing for it to survive
