“On of the Best Beaches...keep it a secret though!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Wide, deep beach for strolls, sunning and sea. It can be a bit of a journey back UP to steps(hence the name...) but well worth it!

Bathrooms are always a bit musty/dirty, but there is an outdoor shower to rinse the salt off you skin....awesome beach for skim boarding, snorkeling, surfing and people watching.

“On the way to San Diego”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

We happened upon Crystal Cove State Park driving from Anaheim to San Diego. If you enjoy beautiful beach views, make the time to visit! We paid $5 to stay for an hour, so we could walk down and explore with the kids. We just relaxed, played in the sand, walked for a short distance along the shore, and were excited to see a few dolphins jumping out of the water. The people who we met during our walk were so welcoming, and encouraged us to visit The Cottages and stay in town for seaside dining. Next time, for sure!

“So much FUN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

The perfect place to look and explore tide pools at your own time and pleasure. When you walk down to the beach there was a beautiful lookout point where you could see Catalina Island and the boats going to and fro. But parking was $15 an day, but worth it. One of the places where you can get away from the Southern Cal rush.

“Day trip ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

What a find. It was very cold for spring break but had fun anyways. Lots to do. Parking is $15, but there are 3 different parking areas and your parking pass allows you in and out privileges all day to any parking lot. This came in handy for us. We first hit reef point parking area, great trails with views to the beach and we were able to take our dog. From there we parked near the historic district. There is a shuttle that cost $1 a person 12 and under are free. We took the trail down that has a tunnel under the hyw not to long and beautiful, but take shuttle back if your tired. The historic district had little shops, bar, restaurant, and museum. The cottages they rent out range from $88 - 258. They are rustic but cute. Walk along the coast for tide pools. We then parked at Moro parking day use near the campsites. This area had several covered benches and close access to the beach. There are several learning stations that my 11 daughter and friend enjoyed and some hiking trails to the back country. We checked out the campsites and had rv hook ups but no open fires. We took our Rv for a fun day trip and were not let down

“Great place to go hiking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

If you're looking for a great place to hike, with magnificent views, this is the place for you. I went with a large group that hiked at a slower pace so we were able to take in the scenery. There are some hills, but they're not too strenuous. I definitely recommend water, a camera, and sunscreen. The best place to start the hike is up by Coastal Peak Park. I believe if you start at a different location, there is a fee.
