This is a beautiful beach. The only draw back is that it is a beach which is frequented by sting rays too. Our 12 year old son was stung at chest level water and the pain was enormous and he got a later infection from it. Kind of difficult to do the "sting ray shuffle" when you are in chest deep water. The lifeguards said he was the third that day to get stung and they have many sting ray stings each day. We were NOT really warned nor did we see anything posted to warn us. Of course, we always tell the kids to do the "shuffle" because there can always be rays at a So CA beach but I think this beach may have more than its fair share of rays.
