This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had and I know I speak for the 8 other people who experienced it with me last night. The waitress was scattered and slow, read us the specials and then disappeared for about 30 minutes only to return to tell us that "we better hurry up and order because a party of 10 just came in and it will take a long time to get our food if we dont get our orders in now" She wanted us to order dinner BEFORE we ordered our drinks! we went ahead and ordered drinks anyway. Took 45 minutes for them to come. I had a cosmo and she shook the thing so violently it went more on the tablecloth than in my glass! we tried to order wine and she said "uh, just give me a minute" while holding her hand up in the face of one of the women we were with and used a very rude tone. We ordered the bottles by the number and she said she didnt know them by the number and we asked her to look them up and she refused so I had to read them to her. she didnt pass out menus, she just left a stack on the end of the table. She chastized the poor bus boy all night long in front of patrons, telling him how to tuse the pepper grinder in a condescending voice and yelling at him to fill up water glasses that didnt need filling! My father in law never got his salad or his entree! He went to talk to the owner about it and the owner told him that we shouldnt be complaing b/c he had made special arrangements for our party to come in that night. (By the way we were there to celebrate my birthday and my sisters in law's birthdays as well.) we had ordered a second round of drinks that never came. They brought the wrong wine, which we sent back and then orderd by the glass and they brought bottles out-we sent them back. The waitress continued to grate cheese over our meals even after we had said "that's fine thank you". when we asked her why it was taking so long for my father in law to get his entree, she blamed the bus boy saying he was new! we asked her what he had to do with anything and she said someone else was new too! after 5 of our party had left the restaurant (one without having eaten), the waitress brings the bill and tells us our dessert (that we had pre ordered) would be on the house but there was no one left to eat it! we said no thank you. The owner came out to talk to us and he accused my father in law of having too much to drink (that is really funny because we only got one drink!) and said if we didnt like it we should just leave. so we did. Left the bill too. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I should add that we talked to 2 other couples who had waited nearly 2 hours and never got their food. This is not a large restaurant and there is no excuse for this poor service. They should have apologized instead of blaming us-then maybe we would give them another chance, but now I am just going to tell everyone about their Horrible customer service. we took my father in law to Casa Orinda (great place in Orinda) where he finally ate a meal-that was served within 15 minutes of being ordered!
