“30th Anniversary Trip - Starting with Indian Wells & La Quinta Resort & Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My husband and I were celebrating our 30th Anniversary with a trip to California. La Quinta Resort was our first stop. The Resort was beautiful. Our suite was clean, roomy, updated with all the modern amenities and had great view of the mountains. I wanted to make sure that two people were recognized from making our visit to the La Quinta Resort extra special. I feel that these two people went above and beyond their normal duties. By doing so, they really made me feel valued as a guest and special. Denisse Fimbres checked us in on our arrival. When she found out that it was our anniversary, she made sure that we had a room with a beautiful view and on returning to our room before dinner, there was a bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was such a nice surprise. It was even a bigger surprise to find a bottle of wine and cheese plate waiting on us the second night of our stay. Both nights Denisse left a hand written note that was pleasantly received. I would also like to mention Austin, a valet supervisor. On our last evening, my husband and I had gone for a walk around the grounds. I was craving a soda, but all the shops had closed. I asked Austin where the closest vending machine was. He replied that they didn't have any vending machines for the guest, but they had one in the employee lounge and he would go get one for me. He asked what I would like and when I told him a Diet Coke, he took off. He returned in a flash with an ice cold Diet Coke. He would not accept any money for the soda. Honestly, I have not received customer service like this in a VERY long time. I felt like a celebrity. Thank you, Denisse and Austin. You are AWESOME!!!
Sincerely,
Greta & Don Gantt

Except for the old and dingy brown carpet, the place is lovely. Although it is huge, it has the feel of a small Mexican village. Lush tropical growth lines every path and street. And, the fact that there are 41 swimming pools and hot tubs, means that your pool is never crowded.

La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California is one of the true treasures in our country. The unique layout of the resort, the gorgeous flowers all over the property, the beautiful view of the mountains is breathtaking. Most important is the quality of the resort - service oriented staff, renovated guest rooms, great golf, tennis, many pools - all make this one of the most beautiful properties to vacation and to plan and manage meetings as I do. It is a place for everyone!!

As someone who travels a lot and stays in Hilton properties around the world, we had high expectations of this resort. The setting is certainly magical. Alas, the "resort" is not, at least not for a discriminating traveler. The so-called "Casitas" are roomy but very dark, with only the barest of furnishings. Beds are lumpy and urgently in need of renovation. There are certainly much more attractive places in this sprawling resort, at least if you are ready to shell out upwards of $500 a night, but the lower category rooms are barely three stars. The food in the Twenty6 bistro was excellent, but the restaurant above it, the Mexican Adobe, was awful. The main pool area was loud and chaotic, but fortunately, each cluster of casitas has it own pool area. The wifi was erratic, and sometimes no faster than dial-up (forget about watching Netflix at this property). In sum, this is probably a great getaway for families and/or for golfers (which we aren't). But if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway from Los Angeles, with a touch of luxury and sophistication that you would legitimately expect from a Waldorf Astoria brand property, keep looking.

It was like a little city and there were neighbourhoods and each neighbourhood had a pool.
We shopped a lot and made lots of new friends.
It was also pretty close to a mini mall.
It was beautiful.

We've stayed in several locations in the Palm Springs area and La Quinta Resort is the best of the best. There's not a bad room on the property, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, the resort staff are friendly and accommodating and there are good restaurants to choose from onsite. Love renting bikes to explore the area and going for desert hikes very close by. Recommend taking the free Saturday morning walking tour of the grounds with the concierge, very interesting to learn about the resort's long, glamorous history!

Room Tip: More privacy if you're upstairs.
