“Lovely oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We've stayed in several locations in the Palm Springs area and La Quinta Resort is the best of the best. There's not a bad room on the property, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, the resort staff are friendly and accommodating and there are good restaurants to choose from onsite. Love renting bikes to explore the area and going for desert hikes very close by. Recommend taking the free Saturday morning walking tour of the grounds with the concierge, very interesting to learn about the resort's long, glamorous history!

Room Tip: More privacy if you're upstairs.

La Quinta has a reputation as a top notch resort, but our experience could best be charactorized as sometimes great and merely average at other times. We were meeting another couple at the resort, and they checked in first. Before we arrived, I heard from them that despite having made the reservation more than six months ago, there were unable to get their requested king size bed. We also had asked that our rooms be close in proximity, as the resort is huge, and that detail had also been missed.

Our check in was fine, but when we got to the room, I was underwhelmed. It looked unrenovated, and like a room that had last been updated in the 1950's. The bathroom was large, but again, not elegant or luxurious We saw a condo on the property that was for sale, and it was beautiful, and I assume that there are far nicer rooms available than what our friends and we were given. We'd have willingly upgraded if given the option, but when making our reservation, we had no idea that we'd be in a retro room.

What does make La Quinta special are the grounds and some of the staff. The property is lush, manicured, and beautiful, and the property is huge, at over 40 acres. The tennis courts are great, and that was another highlight of our stay. Worth special note are two of the on-site restaurants - Twenty6 and Morgans. The staff at Twenty6 was amazing - definitely the best trained and most customer service oriented peoplestaff that we encountered on the whole property. Morgans is the on-site fine dining restaurant, and we had an excellent meal.

My advice for travelers:

1. Ask for a renovated room or one of the newer condo units
2. Most rooms are in one story buildings scattered around a series of 40 swimming pools. Avoid a first floor room with a second floor room above. Our friends said that it sounded like a herd of elephants above them.
3. Make reservations for tennis and for Morgans well in advance during peak season.
4. Don't be surprised when the front desk staff seems busy or disinterested. When we asked for a late check out, we were turned down flat.
5. Be prepared to walk. If mobility is an issue, ask for a room close to the lobby/restaurant area

Room Tip: Ask for a new or recently renovated room

Thank you for being our guest and sharing this valuable feedback. Overall excellent experience; lovely grounds and very convenient to the tennis tournament in Indian Wells. Good dining options on premises. Evening dining at the Morgan restaurant was excellent. Very convenient on-site tennis facilities and golf course.

The arrangement of the rooms are really cute, they are in courtyard style with a pool for every courtyard so in all there are 41 pools on property. We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant and drinks at the steakhouse and the service was great. It was a fast trip for us so we did not have time to enjoy the pool but we had drinks by the firepit. The staff was great and allowed us to drink into the wee hours of the night. The staff will offer to drive you back to your room so that is a plus. Can't wait to come back.

My husband and I were there in early March for a professional conference. We loved the beautiful grounds and golf course, but we were disappointed in our king casita. The room was very small, had a moldy smell and a standard tub/shower combination. We asked for a different room, and we're moved to a larger room with a fireplace which was much nicer. The only drawback was the bathroom was tiny....the size of a train or airplane bathroom.

The Spa is very nice, and we enjoyed all our meals at the various on-property restaurants.

Just got home from a 4 day stay at La Quinta, and once again it was amazing. My husband goes every year for a business conference, and this year we decided to take our pomeranian pup with us. This resort is super pet friendly, we love that!

I won't bore you with all of the details but from check-in to check-out everything was AMAZING! Our room #865 was awesome, had an outdoor patio with private fireplace. This was great for those times when we wanted to keep our door open, puppy out on patio, and enjoy a drink while watching the sun set.

Service, food, everything was great. My husband treated me to a facial, and even the spa was great.

I cannot wait to go back to La Quinta. Service was impeccable. We will be back next year!

thank you!!!!

We stayed at this resort for 4 nights in March and were very impressed. The grounds were nice, and the location was very convenient for attending the Indian Wells tennis tournament. For tennis fans, this is a great place to stay - they have very nice tennis courts and we were even able to see some pros practicing on them. I enjoyed the tennis clinics, although they are a bit expensive. We felt like we had our own private pool/hot tub because they have many pools clustered around a group of rooms, and ours was always empty even though the resort appeared pretty booked. Very nice when we wanted to relax by the pool, although we enjoyed the larger pools for more action. Easy walk to 'downtown' LaQuinta, which has some cute restaurants. Highly recommend the starlight casita - we spend each evening on our private patio with a nice fire. Staff was nice and helpful. Overall, great place to stay and we will return.

Room Tip: Starlight casita rooms give you your own private patio with gas fireplace - worth the extra price to...
