“Such a great weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

I brought my fiance here for the Stay and Play golf package this last weekend.

In terms of golf, we stayed Friday and Saturday night and were able to play Norman (walk on after 12pm on Friday), TPC Stadium, and Jack Nicklaus. The greens at Norman were in bad shape as I guess they had some chemical reaction that burned the greens. The range facilities are good with balls out for before the round and it was easy to make tee times.

In terms of the resort - amazing. From the second you drive up to the moment you check out, the service in awesome. Free valet, they took our bags to the room, etc. etc. The restaurants are good, slightly overpriced but what do you expect? We had a $50 dollar resort credit with our package so that was nice. The only question I had was why there was coffee and hot chocolate out one day and not the next??

Of all the places I have traveled, this one definitely encompasses a 5 star resort.

There are refrigerators/ice makes in the rooms. we haven't had a decent one in the last 4 years and this year they took out ice machines on the property. They were quick about bringing us ice. We love everything else about the hotel. Just need to have working in room icemakers or place them conveniently on the property.

Such a charming Hotel. Used be Hollywood hideaway. I stayed Suite. Balcony have fire place. Welcoming me La Quinta way. Handwriting personalized welcome note. Delicates amenities were amazed. Dinner at Morgan's restaurant offered local glow vegetables, tasty and organic soup and quality meat, I found that chef is three time James Beard award winner. I eat all courses however my stomach was very appreciated.
Next day breakfast at beautiful garden. Nature touch include beautiful flower garden to grapfrite tree, quiet, bird singing, great weather. I felt heaven. Visit spa for facial. Shelly is one of the best technician I knew. Back to La Quinta history, "massages in the sun" was perfect way to finish my review. I can not wait visit New Year Eve. Hiromi

The movie stars used to come out to the Coachella Valley to rest and relax. The La Quinta Resort has preserved the old ideal yet added contemporary features. It's an old property, from the 1920s and the bungalows are charming. A sprawling property, a walk around the premises is a treat. Expect nothing but the finest.

We have stayed at many Waldorf Properties, in fact we were married at one in Key West, FL, and this is truly the best one, in my experience.

Our stay was too short (aren't they all?). The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the staff attentive and the restaurants outstanding. Our casita had recently been renovated and was impeccable, complete with a gas fireplace.

Dear iflyprops,
Thank you for your glowing recommendation of La Quinta Resort and Club. We are especially pleased that you enjoyed the newly restored guest casitas! The outdoor fireplaces are simply amazing at this time of year, especially under a starlit evening. We hope you think of us when booking your next desert getaway.
Sincerely,

My husband and I just returned from a five-day stay here and we had a wonderful time. Our newly-refurbished room was large and tastefully decorated with a fireplace and large bathroom. The grounds were beautiful, with breathtaking mountain views, mature trees, flowers and grass which our dog loved to romp around on. (Yes, the resort is pet-friendly!). The property was decorated for Christmas, and the large tree in front of the lobby was magnificent. There are three restaurants, all of which have lovely outdoor patio seating and all of which had excellent food - we especially liked Morgan's.
The staff was extremely cheerful and friendly, very quick to please and seemed genuinely concerned that our needs were being met. The Spa is very nice, with lots of different choices for massages.
This is an older property, but lovingly and beautiful maintained. I was a bit apprehensive before staying here because of some of the bad reviews about the rooms, but ours was just lovely. After the success of "It Happened One Night," Frank Capra returned here every year to write all of his screenplays, and you do feel like you are back in the 1930's. If you like trendy, contemporary, new and lots of chandeliers and white marble, this isn't the place for you. But if you like Old World, cosy, and rustic elegance, this certainly fits the bill. We will definitely return to this gem!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for one of the newly-refurbished rooms. If Wi-fi is important to you, you may want...

If you've stayed at the Waldorf in New York, then this site will feel much better, but as others on this site will attest, the hotel needs an update in it's rooms. The location, as with all locations of Astoria hotels is magnificent, and a walk of the grounds, especially in December, is worth the visit. But unfortunately upgrading this old girl will take many millions and so if you do decide to stay here and wish first class rooms be specific when you book. I'm sure some of them are, we just can't seem to find them when we book with Astoria.
BTW, Morgan's restaurant is worth the price although ambience is very dated.
