“Amazing Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

We have never experienced anything like this as far as hotels and resorts go. La Quinta Resort and Club is by far the best resort we have ever been to. There isn't one thing that we didn't love about the place. The location is awesome - right next to the mountains in the lovely town of La Quinta which itself looks like one big resort. The room was spacious and very clean. We especially loved the private patio and would recommend the rooms with private patios to everyone who values privacy. The resort is amazingly beautiful. The buildings are very nice looking, palm trees, greenery, flowers everywhere. Everything is close, although we really didn't mind walking, looking at all the beauty around us. The service at the resort is truly outstanding. Everyone was extremely helpful and attentive. We did have one issue with the pay movie (it was interrupted and we couldn't finish watching it) but we were compensated for this inconvenience above and beyond all our expectations. The manager, who was easy to reach, gave us full explanation of what happened (this issue was external to the resort) and followed through on everything we were offered. We really felt we were taken very good care of. The pricing was very good for such a resort, which is truly a luxury resort just like it is advertised. We would highly recommend La Quinta Resort and Club to everybody!

Room Tip: If you like privacy, ask for rooms with private patios in the middle of each resort neighborhood.

Legendary tennis professional and Davis Cup coach Tom Gorman and the terrific and plentiful hard and clay courts on site admittedly are a huge reason we started to make annual trips to La Quinta. We've dubbed Tom the "tennis whisperer" due to his ability to help rev up our creaky tennis game motors. But over the years LaQuinta has become a family tradition for us and our kids, who love wandering the manicured grounds (yes, with many stops at the candy shop) with a carefree abandon that's more reminiscent of the 1950s than the 2010s. Although the Palm Springs area has myriad resort options, few in our opinion offer the combination of history, charm and physical beauty than LaQuinta Resort, especially around the Christmas holidays.

Room Tip: The "Starlight Casitas" are spacious and well-located.

Pros:
1. Pricing is very competitive for the rooms. You can't get a better deal for this price anywhere in Palm Springs.
2. Very well designed: Clusters of small to medium sized pools surrounded by six little buildings of hotel rooms. Makes for some privacy and reduces the crowding at the big pool.
3. Staff is extremely courteous and very professional. Wait staff was friendly at the three restaurants we had, and the workers at the coffee house were great.

Cons:
1. Not on the Palm Springs "strip." You have to drive a little bit for the nightlife.
2. Televisions in the rooms could be a little bit bigger (very insignificant but could use improving)
3. I'm at a loss. I can't think of a 3rd con.

This place is really nice. My wife, kids, and I really enjoy this place and go before and after my military deployments. It's very relaxing and give us a chance to spend some nice, quiet time alone.

Room Tip: Get a room along the longer side of the pool so that you can watch your kids from the shade of the b...

The La Quinta Resort and Club was beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable, large bathrooms, and a cozy little fireplace. We had a hot tub directly outside our room that was great to relax in after a long day of shopping or golfing. I rented a bike from the fitness center and rode one of the trails close to the resort. There were several days I visited the resorts main pool and had a wonderful time. It had amazing views of the mountains and the bar wasn't bad either. It did have a 21 and over pool but, did not visit it (it was on the other side of the resort). The steak house was WONDERFUL, the bar/breakfast resturant had a good selection of everything from food to drinks. It was a great place to go and just chill out, very relaxing and waking up to the mountains everyday was great!

We had a convention there and everything was wonderful. Couldn't ask for better accommodations. Landscaping encouraged taking walks just to see what was around the next corner. There were lots of small pools situated around the cottages so none were crowded.

Room Tip: I visited in other rooms and didn't find anything wrong with any of them.

La Quinta's Resort and Spa Tennis Program is "Awesome". The moment I stepped on the courts the staff at La Quinta had everything covered. From matching players with similar competitive skills, the surrounding beauty, seasoned tennis pros, serving healthy food, nutritional products and drinks that support optimal athletic performance, to thinking outside the box to make my tennis experience exceed any of my expectations. After this 5 day combined business-recreational visit, I am planning my 2013 February holiday already to come back to La Quinta Resort and Club with family and friends. The courts stay open until 10:00 PM. I found practicing what I learned at the morning clinics, after-hours, to be a key solution to integrate my newly discovered skills. Sports Massage, Yoga and Pilates classes supported my performance and recovery. Hands down the best holiday experience for tennis enthusiast and there families. Sincerely, Dr. Daniel Smith, Truckee, CA

Room Tip: Love the rooms closest to the "stadium" court.

Year after year we return for a blissful week of R&R, and each year the resort and staff have never let us down. It says a lot about a resort to have staff who have been employed there for 10+ years, never mind 20+ (and there are plenty). It says a lot about a resort that puts a smile on your face as you turn up the lobby drive, and makes you feel like you've come home. Thanks to Chef Vaughan at 21, Eva at the Adobe, Gabriella at the Spa, and our wonderful housekeeper (whose name eludes me) for taking such terrific care of us this visit. See you all next year!
