“Nice stay, microscopic pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

We had a great stay and tried out everything the hotel had to offer. They offered a nice workout room with quality equipment and several free weights. We were going to use the day spa but after touring it decided against it (not the hotel's strength).

We enjoyed the delicious made to order breakfast. There were several buffet dishes that were great too like chilaquiles. The managers reception was fabulous with great appetizers and free wine, beer, and well drinks! It was great! The staff was top notch and worked tirelessly to ensure people were taken care of.

The grounds were nice and well maintained. The inside of the hotel atrium area was impressive. The rooms were well appointed and updated. Everything was spotless in our room.

The downfall to this hotel is the pool. It is very small. This is a serious flaw since in the summer when people go to the desert, a pool should be a highlight. The pool was not very clean but I believe this was a function of population density: too many people in a reduced space.

My daughter and I stayed just one night but we took advantage of every aspect of this beautiful hotel. Check in was fast even thought they were quite busy as there was a womens group there for the weekend. Our room was clean and very spacious. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Loved the balcony. The managers reception was great!! Lots of different munchies and very friendly staff. The fitness room has the usual cardio machines and weights, with mats and exercise balls and was fairly busy but didn't feel crowded. The breakfast was wonderful. Lots of people but never a line even at the omelet station!! Again a very attentive staff as far as restocking and clearing dishes. The pool and hot tub area was nice....enjoyed both. Great location...many restaurants within walking distance. Such a beautiful and peaceful area. Would definitely go back.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights at the beginning of September.

Check in was straight forward and very fast, we arrived at the hotel around 2pm and was able to check in.

Our room was on the 4th floor. The suite was fantastic, it was a great size and was very clean. There was one bedroom in the suite with a king size bed. The bed was very comfy. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space in the room. There was also a tv in the bedroom.

The bathroom was a great size and again clean with a large area for toiletries etc. There was a bath with a shower over.

There was a kitchen area with a large fridge. There was a sink, microwave etc.

There was a sitting room area with a sofa, chair, dinning table and chair and a tv. The area was a good size and again very clean. The tv was a good size with a good choice of channels. There was a safe in the room. The room was very quiet, we never heard any noise while staying at the hotel.

Breakfast was included in the rate and was fantastic. There was a large choice of hot items, sausage, bacon etc and also cereals, pastries, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee etc. The breakfast area was large and there was always plenty of room to sit.

The managers cocktails in the evening was a nice touch. This included drinks - soft drinks, wine, beer and some alcoholic drinks. There was a couple of choices of snacks and there were also kept very well stocked. Again there was plenty of room and always somewhere to sit.

Parking was free at the hotel and there was plenty of room.

The pool area was nice and clean. It was not a very big pool but was not busy whilst we was at the hotel so it was never an issue. Towels were provided along with water. The sun loungers were very comfy.

The only negative with the hotel was wifi was not available free of charge, I think it was $9.95 a day. There was a business centre with two pc's and printers available free of charge but several times over the 5 day period they were out of order for a period of time.

The hotel was in a good location and close to several restaurants, bars etc. We had a car so it was easy to get around.

We will definitely return to stay at this hotel again and would definitely choose this hotel over the hotels we have stayed at in Palm Springs previously.

Stayed one week in early September, in a one-bedroom 3rd flr. unit with a sm. kitchenette and balcony overlooking the pool. The suite was a very pleasant surprise - much better value than the rate - very nicely furnished, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and linens lush and plentiful, though pillows too soft. Service was excellent all around, front desk staff exemplary. There is plenty of self-parking. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour were excellent additions to the already great value. A few negatives (though minor) could be an easy fix with a little attention: The A/C unit kicked in very noisily and intermittently thru our stay, esp. bothersome at night, waking us up each time. Even after a week, we couldn't get used to it. The only other thing was the kitchenette - it may have prev. been intended for use by guests, but if there had been dishes or utensils etc., all have been removed. Also the safe - though much appreciated - is in a super awkward spot, at floor level in a kitchen cupboard. That said, none were deterrents, we loved this hotel and would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool receive afternoon sun. Can be too hot to enjoy balcony in low season.

Breakfast is excellent. Manager's Happy Hour is the best of ANY Embassy Suites I have stayed at. Pool is just ok, could be bigger. Employees for the most part are friendly. I say this b/c some could use training. If you run into the 'right' employee at this property, you will be treated well. The 'inexperienced' employee will give you a headache. I like this hotel a lot. Housekeeping is very good. I like staying on the 'La Quinta side' as there are (surprisingly) many decent restaurants. I would choose this hotel in a heartbeat and recommend it highly over the Palm Desert Embassy Suites. The Palm Desert will throw in internet connection if you ask nicely and are a Hilton Honors member. Asking for this at the La Quinta Embassy Suites was like pulling teeth. They definitely are trying to nickel-and-dime you. Absolutely no upgrades without additional $$$. This is a shame since there were many rooms available when we went there. I could understand this if the hotel was crowded. Just not as friendly as it could have been, thus a '4' instead of a '5'. Good for families.

Room Tip: Just make sure air conditioning works well. Otherwise request another room ASAP.

I travel to the Coachella valley regularly for businesss. In the heat of the summer the rates for this Embassy Suites are outstanding. You get all the comforts of home and a great price. I sleep extremely well at this hotel.
