Although the souplantation offers some pasta dishes, foccacia/muffins/breads, and deserts, their main focus is on salads and homemade soups. And their offerings are plentiful and outstanding. Several pre made salads, plus various greens (including spinach) and bountiful veggies and condiments at their long salad bar from which you can create a highly healthy custom salad. Plenty of salad dressing choices too (like roasted garlic and fruit vinagrettes) plus olive oil and vinegar.
Service is fast since you serve yourself. The soup bar is the equal of the salad bar with 6 different soups available, some of which they rotate. Their excellent chicken noodle and vegetable chile seem to be mainstays. Nice assortment of lemonades and teas (including unsweetened), although they do have unhealthy sugary soda drinks too.
If you can stay away from the desert bar and sodas, you can have a very nutritious meal at a very reasonable price---particularly when you consider that a medium size a la carte salad at most restaurants is priced around $8 or more.
So at Souplantation you can have a large salad just the way you like it, plus a nice selection of soups---and more---for about the same price as a salad at a mid level restaurant.
Last time I went I avoided the desert bar and limited my bread carbs. I left feeling satisfied but not overly full, which is easy to experience at buffets. And...I felt good about what went into my body. Highly recommended---especially for health conscious consumers.
