“Little lost village in desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Not a big village but enough to browse and have lunch or coffee drink. Situated within view of the scenic Santa Rosa mountains. Check events in La Quinta because art festivals held there yearly b

“Laid back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a small segment of town that has several eateries, coffee place, wine store, and other retail businesses also. Weekends, during season, has Art Under the Umbrellas on Saturdays, with items for sale from local artists, and Sundays has the Farmer's Market, offering organic fresh fruits and veg, as well as a flower vendor that is quite reasonable.

“Do it while here...............”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

but don't make it your destination because of it. Ole town is a nice place to walk around and take in a lunch or dinner, but it'll take you about 20 minutes to do so if that long to walk around the small area. There are some novelty shops to look around and on the weekend, there is a "farmer's market" set up there with local fare. The biggest problem that I have seen in the past is that just because a business is there one time, don't expect it to be there when you come back for a visit next year. I have lived here for the past 15 years and have seen several transformations of Ole Town. There is plenty of free parking in the area though and that's one thing that hasn't changed.

“Old Town La Quinta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Excellent architecture, has nice street fairs, nice coffee shops and restaurants, almost a small theme park. Clint Eastwood's "Hog's Breath Inn" is located there. Good food, ambience, prices.
